I am earnest, warm, and driven.
My Self-Summary
A friend once identified my laugh from down the street. When I was
inside a bar. My laugh is loud, distinctive, and frequent, but
certainly not obnoxious.
More? College in Chicago, raised in a small tourist town in
Michigan. I can be both completely honest and deeply sarcastic. I
would say I'm right-brained except I'm just as easily
left-brained.
**Currently, I'm interning for three months at P&G here in
Cincinnati. I'd love to make some friends who could show me what
the city has to offer.**
What I’m doing with my life
By day: product design. Explored American history, graphic design,
and car design before I settled. It's not perfect, but it's pretty
great considering the alternatives. Who knew that people would pay
me to observe, think, and draw?
By night and weekend: I spend time with local friends, catch up
with distant ones, explore, exercise, and cook.
Someday: independent artist. My latest scheme is learning Visual
Basic to wield as a tool to create sculpture. Now if I could just
find the time...
I’m really good at
Being curious
Empathizing
Wit!
Designing graphics
Photoshop ('til you drop)
Playing the drums
Making, and following, to-do lists
Cleaning (it's true!)
The first things people usually notice about me
People say "You look like James Franco" as often as they say "You
have a big forehead."
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
are a lot more fun to talk about face to face! Just to scratch the
surface...
I'd offer Wilco as my favorite band, though Spoon, St. Vincent,
Beck, or maybe Neil Young or Talking Heads are all top contenders.
Lately I've been on, no kidding, a big Al Green kick.
The Wire is the greatest television show in history, and also my
favorite. I'm also a sucker for Arrested Development and Curb. My
favorite movies usually have Charlie Kaufman, Darren Aronofsky, or
the Coen Brothers working behind the scenes. I just started reading
For Whom the Bell Tolls.
My favorite food comes from lower latitudes --- Thai, Indian,
Greek, Mexican. I excel at cooking and enjoying breakfast.
The six things I could never do without
Challenges
Nature
Friendship
Physical contact
My iPod
My drumset
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Aesthetics
The present and the future
How to make things better
On a typical Friday night I am
Definitely with friends, likely enjoying a drink, and possibly
dancing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I used to have this taboo against opening or finishing bags of
snack food. It took some time and some patience, but I've worked
through it, and now take more initiative with my snacking.
You should message me if
you want to. And you do want to!
