I'm a straightforward and real gal, leading a simple life. As
simple as you can get with a teenage son, an ex-husband who lives
close by and a mom who just moved here from out of state. I love
gardening, cooking, baking (mostly gluten-free), practicing the
piano, dancing - any kind of social dance but mostly swing, making
funky stuff out of recycled clothing, yoga, nature, hiking,
swimming, sailing, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, burgers and
BBQ, beautifying my environment...
I'm looking for a long term partner to play with, dance with, cozy
up with on a cold winter night and swim with in the ocean on a
beautiful summer day, who also loves the outdoors and music, who
can play hard and also get down to business and take care of all
the nitty gritty involved in managing life. I want someone who can
be present with the fun stuff and the hard stuff. I'm not
religious, but I do consider myself spiritual. Although I don't
follow any one path or teacher exclusively, I like Buddhism and
traditions of non-dualism. I meditate occasionally, but mostly it's
dishwashing meditation or vacuuming meditation. I love making
things with my hands, everything from cakes and barbecue chicken to
art quilts and recycled sweaters and new garden beds. I love
learning and trying new things and hope you do too.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm always trying to be a better parent. It's the hardest job I've
ever had, but also the most rewarding. I'm trying to let go of
"figuring it all out" and just be and trust.
I’m really good at
baking, cooking, gardening, making herbal medicine, playing,
parenting and being with kids, oh and did I say baking.
The first things people usually notice about me
quiet, good listener, very present, gentle and sweet,
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love most kinds of music, but I'm not crazy about opera and
really out there jazz. I love to eat mostly healthy, but cookies
and ice cream are good too. Not much bread these days as I am
mostly gluten-free, that's the thing I miss most.
I haven't read a novel in a while, although I always have piles of
books by the side of my bed. My favorite aunt says that's the only
way to read.
No horror movies, almost anything else.
I've been reading the New York Times and listening to Democracy
The six things I could never do without
my son, nature, creative expression, vegetables and meat, music,
good friends, 8 hrs of sleep, good tea.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what to bake next, how to rearrange my garden, parenting a teenager
On a typical Friday night I am
Chilling out from a busy week, hanging out with my son, or watching
a movie. Dancing salsa or swing if I am really inspired.
You should message me if
You are looking for a deep connection.
