My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
new to ABQ and hoping to find some new friends and, if i'm super lucky, a good man to call my own.

i'm realizing the whole "i'm masculine" thing is kinda silly. i'm not gonna sit here and tell you i'm a lumberjack, but i'm also a little bit outside the gay stereotype box. i'm a huge sports fan (and not just because a lot of the athletes are dreamboats; i know the infield fly rule and the difference between pass interference and illegal contact and all that good stuff), i listen to rock more than anything and avoid top 40 radio at all costs (though i don't judge anyone else's music's a very personal thing). i almost always drink beer and almost never drink wine, but i'll have a fruity frozen cocktail every once in a while. i have 9 tattoos including a full sleeve in progress. i routinely have to ask girls if my outfit matches. i still watch power rangers. i have many, many action figures and comic books. i'm all over the map, and i like it that way.

i've got a big heart and a lot to offer the right person. i can talk all night, or i can just sit and enjoy the silence with good company. i really, really suck at the initial small talk (including online sometimes), and it makes me seem way more awkward than i really am, so just keep an open mind.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
continuing my career in local news and transitioning into management. aside from that, I'm going to finally stop being lazy and get in shape. i have so much i want to learn how to guitar, snowboard (again), kickbox, dance without looking like the goofiest guy in the room...potential instructors can apply within.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
obsessing over nostalgia. getting excited about power rangers (yes, i know how i old i am). game shows, especially wheel, the pyramid (god rest your soul, dick clark) and scrabble. making chicken parmesan.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
honest to god i have no idea. i like to think my eyes are half decent. but maybe i have a giant scar in the middle of my face and everyone else can see it but me. :/
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
books: i'll read anything about television/media, sports (especially my sad-sack teams, the mets and eagles), star wars and star trek novels, and comics. (yes, mostly frivolous. but i work in news, so i can use a little frivolity on my down time.)

movies: ferris bueller's day off, star wars, the american president, pitch perfect, the breakfast club, batman (66/89/forever/begins/dark knight/dark knight rises), air force one, avengers, pay it forward (making me cry like a little girl since 2001)

TV shows: west wing, Friday night lights, sports night, survivor, smallville, pardon the interruption, star trek, big brother, grey's anatomy, modern family, cougar town, RW/RR challenge...i'm all over the map, but safe to say i watch way too much tv

music: mostly rock and the 80s/90s/early 2000s music of my childhood, but some hip-hop, and occasionally i revisit my country phase. chances are if it's thumping out of the speakers of a club at 1:30 in the morning, i don't want to listen to it. that means you, dubstep.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
strawberries and strawberry-flavored things, megazord, philadelphia eagles radio broadcaster merrill reese, big towels, christmas music
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
the future. the past. all that crap yoda was talking about.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
down for whatever. i'm not into the club scene, and my bar nights are a lot more few and far between than they used to be, but i'll never rule anything out. and there's never anything wrong with curling up on the couch with a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
i don't give that away for free. but i will say it involves alex trebek.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
you're not nearly as concerned with what's outside as what's inside. you're a kid at heart but a grown up when it counts.
you know what knoebel's is without googling it.
you're a serious person who doesn't take yourself all that seriously.
you love people watching, and are ok with it quickly turning into people judging.

or just say hi for any reason at all.
