My self-summary
Cliche: I hate trying to describe myself, because I'm never sure if I'm doing it honestly or not. I try, but then I worry that I'm not.

That said, I'll give it a shot. I would say I'm fairly intelligent, and I can be interested in a broad range of eclectic things. I love Disney, I love Morning Musume, I love crime dramas, I love MSU football.

I suck at small talk - I find it easy to talk most of the time, but hard to ask questions. They either seem too silly/lame, or too personal. Something I'd like to work on sometime, I suppose.

I am disinclined to do the party/bar/club stuff, so I really don't have any good ideas for meeting new people around here. I just don't really dig the crowds. I think I might enjoy a bar trivia-type activity - but I really don't drink all that much, so bars and the like don't hold much interest for me outside of that. I'm not one for large crowds where I don't know a lot of people - it tends to make me my quietest.
What I’m doing with my life
I've just returned to Michigan, after having lived in Japan for about six years. I loved it, but it was time to call that period of my life finished. I managed 2 weeks of fun before I left - a long weekend in Hiroshima during cherry blossom season and a final trip to Tokyo Disney.

Since returning to the US, I've been trying to improve myself in baby steps. I don't use the internet as much as I used to (though I've probably simply traded that for being attached to my phone), I joined the SL Aquatic Center and am having fun taking classes. I'm trying to cut out soda and add in water.

I work full-time M-F and seem to have a standing part-time job on Sundays as well. It doesn't leave me a ton of free time, but I would like to see if I can find someone to spend some of that time with anyway.
I’m really good at
I got pretty interested in photography a few years ago, and especially while I was in Japan. I was always trying to go to different sites and temples and take pictures. I have a giant photo library on iPhoto now, and who knows how many SD cards. Here's a shot from March '12 in Kyoto - http://i.imgur.com/vLalr.jpg ; and here is one from Hiroshima this past Spring - http://i.imgur.com/96em0ma.png

I'm also usually very good giving the TV Jeopardy! answers while watching. ;)
The first things people usually notice about me
I get a lot of compliments on my eyes and smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Harry Potter, Young Wizards Series by Diane Duane, The Immortals Series by Tamora Pierce, The Black Jewels Series by Anne Bishop, Young Sherlock Holmes Series by Andrew Lane, and the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series by Rick Riordan.

Movies: Mary Poppins, most Disney animated films (roughly Little Mermaid through Mulan), My Neighbor Totoro, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Harry Potter, 10 Things I Hate About You, and probably Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Shows: Sherlock is certainly the top of this list, as is Doctor Who. At one point in time, I really liked CSI - but I haven't kept up with it. Same thing for Law & Order: SVU. I'm starting to get hooked on Criminal Minds. I also adore My Little Pony: FiM, and Scooby Doo.

Music: I absolutely love Morning Musume. It's a Japanese pop group that was very popular around 2000, but is still producing music. To a lesser extent I also like groups related to theirs like S/mileage and Buono!. I know that music isn't for everyone though, and outside of that I really enjoyed a lot of the covers that Glee did, and I like some country music.

Food: Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and broccoli. Second to that, I really enjoy a good chicken curry with nan. If we're looking at Japan-specific dishes... I might have to say shabu-shabu.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
These days - my next trip to Disney. I hadn't been to a Disney park in something like 11 years when I went to Tokyo Disneyland in September 2012. I have a friend who lived practically next door to it though, so I went like 6 times in a year.

I'd love to plan a trip to Disney World - but that trip is a bit more expensive, so it will probably be a while.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably home relaxing, these days. But I could go for a change of plans - any ideas? Mini golf? Walk on the beach?

I think I'm rather picky with what I'm looking for - I need someone who is intelligent, because I've noticed I get snappish pretty easily when it isn't there. I need someone who has a sense of humor - I love making people laugh and laughing with people, but I also need someone who is a romantic. By that, I mean the type of person who wants to curl up by the fireplace with cocoa and fuzzy blankets because it's Thursday. You also have to be a child at heart - to me, mini golfing or laser tag or even a playground all sound like fantastic dates. Not to mention, I would dearly love to take a trip to Disney World in the not terribly distant future and it would help to have someone enthusiastic about that. Some interest in geeky things would be useful - Doctor Who, J-pop, something. Reading at least the occasional book. No drugs - heck, I'd MUCH prefer no cigarettes, and those are legal. Probably best if you lean a bit towards outgoing, because I really don't.

Appearance is the hardest for me to define in words, but I will say I do like men who look good in glasses. Not a requirement by any means, but darnit are the right frames sexy on so many of you.

I rather crave touch in a romantic relationship - so if that's not for you, it's probably not going to work. Hand holding, massages sometimes, things like that.

Finally, I want a guy who makes me feel sexy. The "I can't keep my hands off you" type of thing. He knows there's a time and a place, of course, but sometimes throws that "I want to be someplace appropriate for what I am thinking right now" kind of look.
