My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Cliche: I hate trying to describe myself, because I'm never sure if I'm doing it honestly or not. I try, but then I worry that I'm not.

That said, I'll give it a shot. I would say I'm pretty intelligent, and I interested in a broad range of random things. I love Disney, I love Morning Musume, I love crime dramas, I love MSU football.

I suck at small talk - I find it easy to talk most of the time, but hard to ask questions. They either seem too silly/lame, or too personal. Something I'd like to work on sometime, I suppose.

I am disinclined to do the party/bar/club stuff, so I really don't have any good ideas for meeting new people around here. I just don't really dig the crowds. I think I might enjoy a bar trivia-type activity - but I really don't drink all that much, so bars and the like don't hold much interest for me outside of that. I'm not one for large crowds where I don't know a lot of people - it tends to make me my quietest.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm job hunting, mostly. I have a full time office job at the moment, and it pays well for all the Netflix I am allowed to watch - but it isn't something I want to stick with the rest of my life.

Until a year ago, I was living in Japan. I have a lot of fun memories of it and it was a big part of my life for almost 6 years, so I have plenty of pictures and stories to share if you're into that kind of thing.

Since returning to the US, I've been trying to improve myself in baby steps. I joined a gym, but I didn't delete Facebook and I don't have a lawyer. ;) Between the 8-4 job and the gym, most of my free time to hang out comes on the weekends.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I got pretty interested in photography a few years ago, and especially while I was in Japan. I was always trying to go to different sites and temples and take pictures. I have a giant photo library on iPhoto now, and who knows how many SD cards. Here's a shot from March '12 in Kyoto - http://i.imgur.com/vLalr.jpg ; and here is one from Hiroshima this past Spring - http://i.imgur.com/96em0ma.png

I'm also usually very good giving the TV Jeopardy! answers while watching. ;)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I get a lot of compliments on my eyes and smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Harry Potter, Young Wizards Series by Diane Duane, The Immortals Series by Tamora Pierce, The Black Jewels Series by Anne Bishop, Young Sherlock Holmes Series by Andrew Lane, and the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series by Rick Riordan (Also Heroes of Olympus).

Movies: Mary Poppins, most Disney animated films (roughly Little Mermaid through Mulan, then add in recents like Tangled, Brave and Frozen), My Neighbor Totoro, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Harry Potter, 10 Things I Hate About You, and probably Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. I loved the LEGO Movie, too.

Shows: Sherlock is certainly the top of this list, as is Doctor Who. At one point in time, I really liked CSI - but I haven't kept up with it. Same thing for Law & Order: SVU. I've traded those for Criminal Minds, it seems. I will almost never pass up Scooby-doo.

Music: I absolutely love Morning Musume. It's a Japanese pop group that was very popular around 2000, but is still producing music. To a lesser extent I also like groups related to theirs like S/mileage and Buono!. I know that music isn't for everyone though, and outside of that I really enjoyed a lot of the covers that Glee did, and I like some country music.

Food: Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and broccoli. Second to that, I really enjoy a good chicken curry with nan. If we're looking at Japan-specific dishes... I might have to say shabu-shabu.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
These days - my next trip to Disney! I hadn't been to a Disney park in something like 11 years when I went to Tokyo Disneyland in September 2012. I have a friend who lived practically next door to it though, so I went like 6 times in a year.

I'm currently trying to put away some cash for a trip to Florida... I think Mickey turns 90 in 2018 - maybe there will be a special event for it? Though it would be nice to go before then, too!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Right after work, I tend to hit the gym for a bit. After that I will head home to relax, but I could go for a change of plans - any ideas? Mini golf? Walk on the beach?

We have a few interests in common. One of the most important to me right now is probably Disney/general geekery.

If your idea of a good time (at least sometimes) involves snuggling up and watching Netflix.

If you're not just looking for a hook up.

I'd prefer if you were a non-smoker, and I'm not 420 friendly. I'd also prefer if you can spell real words in a message.
