My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey there guys! Despite what you may have heard, if you posted a shirtless picture of yourself that you took of yourself in the bathroom mirror you are a tool.

I mean this in the most delicate way possible but if you have genital herpes I'm sorry, but I'm not interested.

At this point I'm not open to dating anyone with kids.

The goat is not mine in case you're worried.

I’m looking for the love of my life. And want to be the apple of his eye. I like serious, monogamous commitment. I don't cheat. I'll say that again, I don't cheat. It's tough to imagine myself ever giving birth but I suppose stranger things have happened. Marriage is not necessary but I'm open to the idea.

I see myself as a strong personality. Kind of sarcastic. I have never been shy. I am outspoken, opinionated, honest and direct. I can be quick witted and maybe a little bit of “a handful” in a good way. I am engaging and inquisitive. I am an extrovert but I am comfortable being alone and can occupy myself/my time. Much of my life is dictated by what I am in the “mood” for. I have a quality over quantity attitude towards accumulating friends. My motto: Worse has happened. My main goals in life are to smile, laugh, have fun and enjoy myself as much as possible. I have been described as "a real piece of work"-I took it as a compliment. I go with my gut. I believe in truth over tact. I have respect for myself and am what I consider to be a good person with character and personality. I am a HUGE Patriots fan and try to watch every game. I like animals better than people.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Let me tell you some things I don't do in my free time...smoke crack, shoot heroin, conceive illegitimate children or harm animals. Most anything else is cool.

I am originally from Massachusetts, and lived in San Francisco before moving to Portland. I occasionally use the word "wicked" and sometimes have an accent.

I have an aversion to pharmaceutical companies, prescription drugs and conventional medicine. However, I will use Afrin when I am sick and cannot breathe thorough my nose-that stuff is awesome. I am a Certified Nutritional Therapist but do not practice currently. I take vitamins and supplements because I do not believe our food has the same nutritional value it once did. It is important to me to stay in shape. Sometimes I work out 5-7 days a week, sometimes I go for months without working out at all-which I see as "resting". It works for me.

I like white, bright, light. Shades up. Windows open. Fresh air. I think that your environment is indicative of your personality and would not want to spend time with someone who prefers a dark environment.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Not snoring or hogging the bed. I cannot sleep with someone who snores, so if you do, please rule me out. I realize I may be getting a little ahead of myself. I just want to avoid a bad night's sleep.

Oh-and on that note-I sleep with a fan running and the window open/at least cracked most of the time.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Better yet-some things I notice about people. Demeanor, smile or lack there of, whether they chew their nails, how they articulate they "carry" themselves and how they engage with others. I can learn a lot about what I need to know by these types of things. The intangible energy that exists between two people that pulls them together is paramount. I give very little credit to the attraction established through a profile as it can be dissolved the second you speak to someone or even just lay eyes on them for the first time in person.

A man’s body language, demeanor, the way he walks, stands, how he engages with others, whether he holds his head high…are indicators for me about the type of person he is and can influence whether I am attracted to him. A man’s character is equally as much of a factor in my level of attraction. A man who is true to his word and has integrity, self-respect, quiet confidence, a strong work ethic, a “golden rule” approach towards others…are qualities that are attractive to me. A quote I think is so true- "The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good" -Samuel Johnson. I think that quote applies to humans in general.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Music: depends on my mood. Never heavy metal. Can't stand Dub Step. Not a fan of reggae, punk, funk, soul, bluegrass.

Some favorites: Radiohead, 90's R&B, 80's, Country, Jason Aldean, Tiesto (2001-2007-ish), Armin Van Buuren, Baltimora Pandora station, Fleetwood Mac, Lionel Richie (Commodores era), City and Colour, Cut Copy, Friendly Fires.

Dancing: Hip hop, R & B, Trance and 80's. I recently tried line dancing and had fun. Could be talked into going to Duke's

Shows: not watching much right now but past-Dexter, Homeland, Suits, GOT

Movies: Fight Club, Memento, Seven, Spun, Shawshank Redemption, Donnie Brasco, Boogie Nights, The Green Mile, Good Will Hunting, The Departed, Heat, Wizard of Oz, Rounders, Crash, How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days, Blow, Boogie Nights, As Good as It Get's, Almost Famous, Never Ending Story.

Fun: Texas Hold em' (with friends for chump change), Throwing a football, Music Trivia, Dancing, Camping, Backpacking

Funny: Mitch Hedberg, Kevin Hart

Read: David Sedaris who I find hysterical. Augusten Burroughs also laugh out loud funny. Tucker Max. Michael Pollan and anything about nutrition, naturopathic medicine. Neil Strauss "The Game", if you're THAT guy-I'll see you coming a mile away. Good luck with that though!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Americano's, wine, my cats, sleep, sun, music.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I think a lot, sometimes give myself analysis paralysis, and research everything.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Typically pretty low key. I do like "going out" to bars, night clubs, dancing etc. (though I don't go very often). I like to enjoy a few drinks now and then. Don't get me wrong I am not an alcoholic and occasionally give up drinking for as much as 3 months at a time just to do it. I'm just saying I could likely not have a serious relationship with someone who does not drink or is conservative about drinking.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
I prefer to learn about people/have people learn about me through personal interaction as opposed to online profiles. If you contact me I will be flattered and respond one way or another. If we meet in person and I don’t feel chemistry I will tell you straight out, I will expect the same from you. Also VERY IMPORTANT: If you are someone who does not smile much I'd rather know you better as a stranger.

You should not message me if:
You're still in love with your ex
You are reliant on prescription drugs
You cannot carry on a conversation outside of idle chit chat
You prefer texting over conversation
