My self-summary
I was born and raised in the East Bay. I attended Catholic elementary school and then graduated from the high school where I now teach. I went on to graduate from UC Davis....Go AGS!! I received a BS in Biological Sciences and was studying to become a veterinarian.

After graduation from UC Davis, I moved back to the Bay Area and began my pursuit of a career in education. My jobs within the education field have been varied, including: Substitute Teacher, Special Education Paraeducator, Middle School Math Teacher, and a Special Education, Science, Math, and EL Teacher. I passed my Master's exam and graduated from CSU Sacramento on Decemeber 15, 2012 with a MA in Special Education.

I started volunteering/traveling internationally about 10 years ago and it has definitely become very addicting. Ask me about my adventures over some coffee or a round of pool and some beers because I have some crazy stories to share.

In my free time I enjoy hiking, camping, walking with my new yellow lab Kilda, taking photos with my cool digital camera, spending time with friends and family, traveling all over the world, and going for drives in my car along the many beautiful curvy California roads. Friends, family, and students describe me as caring, spontaneous, adventurous, passionate, intelligent, thoughtful, fun-loving, generous,..... I'm looking for a partner in crime who has similar traits. :-)
What I’m doing with my life
- teaching math to English Learners and students with learning disabilities at the high school I graduated from
- volunteering internationally every summer. I've traveled to 6 of the 7 continents and volunteered on 4 of them (Mexico in 2001, India in 2005, Costa Rica in 2006, Kenya in 2007, Peru in 2009, Haiti in 2010, Mexico and Nicaragua in 2013 with some of my high school students).
- working on the house I bought in Alameda...being 3-4 blocks from the beach is great!!
- taking photographs whenever I can
- working hard, but playing harder
- being adventurous & spontaneous, but also enjoying the simple things in life

- a digital SLR camera to enjoy while hiking through the beautiful Bay Area and National Parks with my yellow lab, Kilda

- what I'm going to do with everything I've seen overseas (i.e. work for the UN, start a non-profit, teach with the Peace Corps, work for Red Cross doing disaster relief, etc.)
- fun, adventurous, and spontaneous activities to do on the weekend and during my vacations from work
On a typical Friday night I am
Making mojitos for my friends in my backyard, going to a comedy club, playing games at Dave 'N Busters, go-karting, walking my lab over to the Alameda beach, playing pool and throwing back a few beers, eating dinner and seeing a movie,.....out enjoying the Bay Area doing something fun and different, or chillin' at home making dinner and snuggling up on the couch with Netflix, Kilda (yellow lab) and Sissy & Jasmine (Maine Coone cats)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
