What!? Still reading? Fine, fine, have it your way then. When you are so utterly amazed by my profile that you can’t believe a guy of my caliber actually exists, at least you can’t say I didn’t warn you… Clearly, sarcasm is not part of my repertoire, but can you imagine how that would have sounded if it were? Ha!
So, where to begin? Well, I am definitely not your run of the mill ‘wow his profile sounds the same as every other down-to-earth, easy-going scrub on this site’ kinda guy. No, no, I’m just a bit more colorful than that.

I have a borderline obsession with Irish pubs, yet I am not a big drinker or sports watcher. I am good at planning, implementing, and seeing things through, yet I prefer spontaneity above all else. I have strong morals and principles that I live by, yet I am not religious. I am not the life of the party, yet I regularly entertain at my home. I am an engineer, yet I have social skills. I am very responsible, yet sometimes I forget to take out my trash. Even though I have my PhD every day, I will only make you address me as Dr. on Tuesdays. Yes, I am such a raging barrel of conundrum!

Okaaay, enough of that. I am a driven sort who embraces life and the connections I have made throughout. I have a great career, but I do well to balance it with other equally important aspects of my life. I have a four year old son and dadness suits me quite well. I am certainly an intellectual sort and like to delve into deep conversations with the best of them. At the same time, many of my friends and family are not and I enjoy their company as much as my university friends. Family is very important to me and a large part of my life. I like to build things and am a bit of a home improvement junkie (although I am mostly out of things to home improve at this point). I play tennis, run somewhat consistently, and attempt to eat healthy most of the time. I am a foodie (which sometimes conflicts with the healthy eating bit, but moderation works well for me). I have been fortunate to do some great international trips over the past decade, ranging from northern Canada, to Australia, to the UK, and beyond. Most recently I did a 10-day road trip across Ireland in the Fall of 2013 (dream come true, actually). I’m certainly looking to experience much more of that.
I was born and raised in Dayton, although I lived in Albuquerque and Tucson over a period of seven years (grad school and pursuit of a start-up company took me down there). I definitely miss the Southwest, but overall I am happy to be back home near my family, friends and Fall time.
So there you have it—a little glimpse of me. Obviously there is a lot more to me and I have a lot to offer the right person. If you want to know more by all means ask.
