My self-summary
Hi, I'm Mackenzie.

Currently I'm working on myself, and have very little time for bullshit but a lot of time for varied opinions and new friends.

I've got some growing up to do yet, but I think we all do. Really I'm just an adorable mess, packed for your convenience in a party dress.

So, maybe this summary is too brief, but I really don't care what you think. Or maybe I do. Or maybe I am just too tired to know any better right now.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm just living the dream with the stars for my ceiling. Currently, I have a soul crushing 9-5 in customer service. I'm trying to hold it together long enough to go back to school.
I’m really good at
I don't know what I'm all that good at anymore. Probably board games. That's kind of a big topic, I guess, but I've been known to basically win everything at some point or another.

I make pretty tasty peanut butter cookies, and I like to think that my typing speed is above average.

I am not particularly good at lying, but I don't think I'm really that great at telling myself the truth, either.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably nothing. I may come across amazing on the internet, but in person I'm very reserved at first, to the extent that a lot of people just think I'm a big ol' standoffish bitch.

I promise, I'm not. Just talk to me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
This is a great category to really get to know someone. I have a lot of current jams, but they change frequently enough, I suppose.

I'm reading a text book right now about anxiety and panic, and I think it's pretty fascinating. The last book I read for pleasure was the last installment of the Percy Jackson series. Charming series, if you're in to young adult lit. Before that was The Jungle, and before that was Arabian Nights. I like to switch it up every once in a while. My favorite book is most likely Still Life With Woodpecker. Even weirdos need love, you know? As for short stories, I could read them all day. And my favorite playwright of the moment is Tennessee Williams. But then, he's been my favorite playwright for years.

I don't watch nearly as many movies as I used to, but I think that has everything to do with the fact that I work a 9-5 and it takes me an hour to get home. I like movies. Please, recommend your favorites.

TV has a special place in my heart. Short form is great. My most recent undertaking is watching all of Buffy and Angel. No spoilers, this is my first time through. I have some regular shows during the week, and some junk TV (you know, watch like, 5 episodes at once and wonder where all the time went.) I like TV. We should talk about this, too.

For music, I can listen to just about anything and be happy. Sometimes, my brain works too quickly for me to really understand what is going on up there, so music is the great equalizer for me. I have an addiction to pop music, but seriously, I will listen to just about anything and be content.

Food. I could talk about food for days. I think Indian/ Persian is my favorite, but I eat it so rarely. I love soups and stews though. And peanut butter. If it has peanut butter in it, I will probably at least try it, unless it also has bananas. Bananas are the most disgusting food on the face of the planet. Do not try to tell me otherwise. You will lose the argument.

I have a gluten sensitivity, so I can't eat a lot of my old favorites anymore, but I've gotten pretty good at adaptations. Also, not being able to eat pasta means that I now make really great rice. If you have any questions about gluten free eating, you should probably ask someone else. I'm not super informative.
The six things I could never do without
Barring essentials for life-
1. My dog. His name is Kermit. He is amazing, and I love him.
2. My mom. She is the best person I know.
3. Beach snack mix. You could only be so lucky as to have beach snack mix. If you ask, I might just tell you what it is.
4. My phone. I kind of hate that I think I couldn't do without my phone, but I am on the grid. Technology is great, so why not use it?
5. Thumbs. They are important. Get with the program.
6. Touch. I like it when the people I like come into physical contact with me. It's humanizing and humbling.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What my dog is thinking about.
What I'm going to do when I get back to school.
I actually have a lot of one sided conversations in my head.
How to make things better for the people around me.
What to tweet. (@kenziverse)
I spend a lot of time zoned out, actually. My mind works at a ridiculously fast speed, and my conscious thoughts can't keep up some times. It's usually easier to just shut it all off and let the music just flow through my head.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably at home, honestly. I like to stay in and play games, read, catch up on all of the shit I missed through out the week. If I'm not home, I'm probably on the road to someone, somewhere that has a piece of my heart.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a really stupid fear of the small spaces between steps in iron stair cases, especially the ones in light houses.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 19–29
  • Near me
  • For new friends
You should message me if
Mostly, if you feel like it. Free will and all of that sort of stuff.
I always need someone to talk to. Also, seriously, only looking for friendship. Please do not message me if your intentions are to try and steal me away from my super awesome boyfriend.

Oh, and if I'm online, just send me a chat. I'm much more likely to respond that way.
