I am smart, funny, and driven.

My Self-Summary

I'm a single woman making her way in Los Angeles - and learning a lot about myself in the process!
I love connecting with other people - telling stories, making people laugh, and being part of a tight-knit community. I also love learning new things (I wish I set aside more time to read!), and engaging intellectually with new ideas. I'm caring, love animals, and I practically live off instant oatmeal... That's right ladies and gentlemen: she can't cook. Or, at least she's always in rehearsal or in her car, so, although it's usually quite healthy, it's gotta be portable! :)

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a weird right-brain/left-brain hybrid: a classically-trained actor, as well as a math tutor/teacher and freelance web designer... Oy ve :)
I'm working in theatre and television (and yes: actually working, knock on wood...), and tutoring high-schoolers in math as a day job.
I'm also a big gym person - I love boot camp and lifting classes, and running on the treadmill (gives me a chance to catch up on the gossip magazines. And no: the fact that I read "In Touch" is not something I'm proud of - but I'm willing to admit it :)

I’m really good at

Fitness activities like running and hiking, debating, performing in verse, eating (that's a skill, right?) and random things (ex: tech support for family and friends - need a DVR programmed? I'm your woman...) And I'm quite good at solving quadratic equations - although that's not the most useful skill in everyday life :)

The first things people usually notice about me

I walk into a room and generally put my intelligence forward first - although, despite the undergrad degree from Yale, I'm that kid in the Gary Larson comic who pushes instead of pulls the door outside the "Acme School of the Gifted" - props if you know what I'm talking about...
I think people also notice how friendly I am: I love making random people smile or laugh - waiters at restaurants, parking attendants - why not try to brighten someone's day if you can? What have you got to lose - we're all in this together in many ways...

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Favorite books: The Complete Works of Shakespeare (not even kidding), Piers Anthony's "Incarnations of Immortality" series was an all-time favorite as a kid. I love fantasy sci-fi - and yes, I did read the Harry Potter and Twilight Series :)

Favorite TV shows: Battlestar Gallactica (the new series), Law and Order, Bones, House, Family Guy

Favorite Movies: Princess Bride, Labyrinth, The Matrix, American Beauty - those are some all-time faves...

Favorite music: I'm pretty easy - whatever's on the radio on KIIS FM or 98.7. Particular favorites, though, are U2, The Police, ColdPlay, Justin Timberlake, The Killers, and Kings of Leon.

The six things I could never do without

1. my family and friends
2. laughter
3. the ability to express myself, physically and vocally

the rest of these I know I could live without, but would rather not have to:
4. my Mac
5. my car
6. sleep :)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

That's a tough one - I alternate between thinking short term (like to-do list style) and longer term (what am I looking forward to, laying out future plans,...)
I like that I've found some ways to challenge my thinking - through classes, new experiences, and discussions with friends - and I'm always looking to do more!

On a typical Friday night I am

Lately, in rehearsal for a play! How exciting does that sound, right? Hehe...

I'm also often going to see a play, or going to dinner with friends - sometimes working - changes week-to-week!

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Besides that I enjoy the tabloids on the treadmill? I'm a pretty open person - all you gotta do is ask...

You should message me if

I'm looking for someone who's smart, intellectual, fit, and motivated to grow (whatever that means to different people).
Oh, and you gotta love to laugh :)
