My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
If I had to describe myself in one sentence: A ready for love geek with a social life.

In more detail, I'm a little on the shy-side, but I'm very talkative when I feel comfortable with the people around me. I'm far from being superficial, what's inside matters to me the most.

I'm passionate about my newly found and long-lasting interests. Lately, my focus has been on board games. It's a hobby through which I've gained a bunch of friends. Pen and paper roleplaying also interests me, but our current adventure has been on hold for some time now.

I'm fascinated by the history of mankind. What we've achieved, where we've gone wrong, what the future holds... When someone says history seems to repeat itself, it truly does.

Every aspect of Japan fascinates me: the history, the culture, the art, anime, the whole package. Especially the samurai. It's an expensive place to visit, I should start saving up for a trip.

What cracks me up the most: dirty jokes, crazy humour (like in Family Guy or anything out of the pen of Seth MacFarlane, all the Monty Python stuff, humour unique to some comics (like the Fingerpori and Gary Larson's The Far Side) and stand-up.

What I'm looking for here: something serious or just new friends of similar interests.

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Now I'm learning graphical design at a foundation job. There are some courses that I want to apply to in the fall. I want to learn the C# programming language, so I can bring my numerous game ideas to reality.

Getting in better shape and losing weight is one of my main pursuits. I mostly work out at home, using a rowing machine, an exercise bike or dumbbell weights. I've got some ways to go still. Recently, I started playing badminton each week, so that's been a blast. Bowling is suprisingly taxing, we (a bunch of people from work) go bowling every thuesday.

Finding a girl that likes me and accepts me for who I am, that's the ultimate goal. Stereotypically, I love geek girls and gamer girls. There's never a shortage on what to talk about with them.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Advicing people on computer matters, photoediting and graphical design, anything that has anything to do with games. Being there when you need me. Restoring furniture, as a job, was very enjoyable and I got high praise for the quality of my work. My oil painting turned out great, my father taught me some basic techniques. That hobby has been in the backburner for a while.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Physically: maybe my goatee, my glasses. Often times I wear hoodies and jeans, but I do dress up on occasion.

Personality-wise: my kindness, that I might seem a little shy, that I'm well-mannered. My friends know me as someone who isn't afraid to express his opinion.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Novels by H. P. Lovecraft, Frank Herbert. Many fantasy writers, like R. A. Salvatore. Reading has an on / off relationship with me, I usually read more during summertime. Just bought the first book in the A Game of Thrones series, it's frightening to start since it's a massive ordeal to read through all of them.

Movies that have fantasy, sci-fi, historical or a war themes are commonly my favourites. There aren't in any particular order: The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Braveheart, Indiana Jones movies, Alien movies & Prometheus, Star Wars episodes I to VI (although IV to VI are the best of the bunch), Star Trek movies, The Matrix trilogy, Stargate, Kingdom of Heaven, 1492 - Conquest of Paradise, Ninth Gate, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Fire from the Sky, Saving Private Ryan, Downfall, Dune, Leon, WALL-E, Blade Runner, The Last Starfighter, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List, 2001: A Space Odyssey, God and Generals, Talvisota, Ghostbusters, 300, Die Hard movies, Eyes Wide Shut, Fight Club, Conan - The Barbarian, The Devil's Rejects, Kill Bill movies, Interview with a Vampire, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Seven Samurai, 13 Assassins, Hara-kiri (the original one), Legend, The Dark Crystal, The Last Starfighter, Lars von Trier's Melancholia, The Hobbit trilogy, Skyfall, Oblivion, Chappie, American Sniper, Gran Torino. To be continued.

My favourite shows right now are The Walking Dead, Vikings, Under the Dome, Hannibal, Defiance, Game of Thrones, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Knick (freaking brilliant show). Close runner-ups are Sons of Anarchy, Hell on Wheels, Falling Skies, True Blood and Fringe. Who can forget The X-files. Northern Exposure was and still is a heartwarming show. Star Trek has had me hooked since The Next Generation, all the way through to Enterprise. The original series didn't appeal to me as much as the newer shows. Some trekkies discriminate against Star Wars fans, but I love both universes, there's no real need to pit them against each other. Oz, Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica, Jericho and Firefly, not to be forgotten. The Sopranos was a brilliant series, but I still have mixed feelings about the ending. Boardwalk Empire really captures the feel of the prohibition era. The Tudors and The Borgias, I enjoyed both greatly. When it comes to anime, I'm kinda picky. Some anime I've enjoyed: Attack on Titan, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ghost in the Shell: Stand-alone Complex, Samurai Champloo, Bunny Drop, Macross Frontier, Space Battleship Yamato 2199, Cowboy Bebop, Hellsing, Hellsing OVA, Monster, Death Note, Planetes, Space Dandy. Some anime movies I want to mention: Akira, Spirited Away, Porco Rosso, Macross - Do You Remember Love?, The Secret World of Arrietty, Howl's Moving Castle.

What I mostly listen to is hard rock, pop (mainstream, finnish and sometimes j-pop or k-pop), soundtracks and classical. Rap isn't my thing, if I had to mention something I dislike. To name a few of my favourite artists: Madonna, Nightwish, Jenni Vartiainen, Metallica, Kotiteollisuus, Scandinavian Music Group, Ultra Bra, Chisu, HIM, Lynyrd Skynyrd. Some composers that I like: Mozart, Bach, Vivaldi, Sibelius. I'm not one of those people who must have music playing in the background at all times. When I do listen to music, I devulge all of my concentration to it, to fully enjoy and appreciate the music.

Some of my favourite board games: Arkham Horror, Eldritch Horror, Elder Sign, Dead of Winter, 7 Wonders, Kingdom Builder, Ticket to Ride: Europe, Race for the Galaxy, Descent: Journeys in the Dark, Twilight Imperium, Smallworld, Pandemic, Muchkin, Alias, Scrabble.

PC games: Pillars of Eternity (so, so, so good), Cities: Skylines, Skyrim, Fallout series (all of them), Civilization series, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Starbound, Baldur's Gate series, Dragon Age series, Mass Effect series, SimCity series, Master of Orion series, Crusader Kings series, Europa Universalis series, Victoria series, Hearts of Iron series, FTL, Don't Starve, Terraria. Some MMOs I used to play: World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings Online, Rift, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Star Trek Online, EVE Online, Guild Wars 2, EverQuest II, EverQuest, Ultima Online, Asheron's Call, Anarchy Online. MMOs tend to dominate your life, so I've intentionally stayed away from them. Some great indie games: . Roguelike games worth mentioning: Dwarf Fortress, Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, Angband, ADOM.

When it comes to food, I'm not very skittish, I usually try everything. I must have tried the chicken caesar salad in a dozen different restaurants. Schnitzels are pretty high on my list. Pizzeria Napoli has heavenly pan pizzas. I don't prefer seafood, unless it's tuna, shrimp or smoked salmon. Super spicy foods aren't my thing.

I'm a social drinker, so I don't sit around at home drinking. Various ciders, long drinks, Jägermeister, gin and tonic, I usually order those.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Friends, my computer & the internet, my phone, family, sex, having a treat once in a while.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What makes the world tick. The universe. I keep nagging on myself mentally to work out more and watch what I'm eating. My friends. If the woman of my dreams has messaged me through a dating service. Why are all the great ones already taken? How to improve my life and myself.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either playing board games or out in a bar with my friends. If not, then I'm usually on the web, playing some game on my computer, watching a movie or some silly reality show.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
You'll just have to get to know me, sorry. :)
