I do my best to live a life of no regrets. Sometimes it backfires.

I'm always down for some live music, a museum or three, art, theater, people-watching downtown. I have a knack for finding interesting, new and different things to do on the cheap in Denver.

I have an insatiable wanderlust. No, really. I can't get enough. Next up: I'm plotting to spend the summer in Europe. If Vienna were a kidnapped damsel, she'd be tied to the train tracks and I'd be twirling my mustache at her.

That might not have made sense.

I love people who are intelligent and humorous and carry a sharp wit around with them.

I have a job I love, friends I love and am doing activities that I love. I realize there were a lot of pronouns and verbs in that sentence, but I like them all.

I'm learning to play guitar, and I really suck at it.

I'm attempting to harness the power of my new Canon 40d, whom I've named Armande. I've recently become obsessed with urban exploration; breaking into abandoned places and photographing the hell out of them. I have yet to venture out: have been doing research. Am also looking for that Perfect Someone... willing to risk trespassing charges with me.

I'm buoyantly happy sometimes, and I like it.

Martial arts, good conversation and cooking. Being silly at slightly inappropriate times. Smiling for the sake of smiling. I'm possibly passable at taking tons of photographs to commemorate whatever's happening tonight, just because life is too good to not remember. Having dance parties in my car and making awkward eye contact with strangers in other cars.

I look like I'm 16.

Right now I'm reading: the Song of Ice and Fire series, The Thief of Auschwitz, The Stand, The Sparrow, The Red Queen: Sex and the Evolution of Human Nature and slowly slogging through World Without End in German. Books are like air and light to me.

I love movies, any kind, really. You'll be equally likely to find me watching a bloody action flick as a foreign drama. There's this fantastic show in town where comedians MST3k live to great movies, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I may never get over my childhood crush on John Conner (Edward Furlong, much more age-appropriate at the time, not the Christian Bale "Batman as John Conner" rendition).

Indie music is where my heart lays, but give me some Ella Fitzgerald any day. Right now, I'm seriously digging the following: Dead Confederate, Band of Horses, Band of Skulls, White Rabbits, Airborne Toxic Event, the Rouge, the Whigs, Alberta Cross, the Features, the Black Keys, the Fratellis, Manchester Orchestra (who are neither an orchestra, nor from Manchester), The xx, Matt and Kim, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Churchill, Alabama Shakes. Chromeo and John Common and Blinding Flashes of Light and the Damnwells. Extra brownie points if you know more than three of those bands.

I love to cook, usually whatever comes to hand/mind/pantry. My stuffed steak is pretty impressive. I am a firm believer in garlic.

Books, travel, a camera, martial arts, good friends and intelligent conversation. Not necessarily in that order.

The future and the past, and how and why that makes me who I am. Causality. How the slightest coincidence or change in plan can change your entire life. How to smile at strangers. Sensation vs. Perception. What to do now. Why the hell the hot water knob on my shower has to be all the way up, but you really have to finesse the cold water tap in order to not scald/freeze. Why genetic engineers haven't made me a miniature elephant yet.

I hate the concept of typical. Sometimes I'm in, recuperating because I decided to go out on Thursday to defy tradition, sometimes I'm out. Movies, drinks, urban adventures, Lipgloss? Sounds good.

I was a cheerleader in high school because of a bet. But I was the alternative one that listened to NIN and wore a lot of black eyeliner.

I still make mix tapes for myself.

Sometimes I like to be the big spoon.

My job is cooler than your job.

You're happy. You know what you want. You like adventuring. You like to laugh so hard you cry. You'll eat my food. You can challenge me, or I can challenge you. You can school me at Scrabble. I'm sorry, but I tend to not reply to one-word messages and creativity and proper grammar are always appreciated. :)
