ooh, la, and la!
My self-summary Propose an edit
I like lists.
LIST ONE: "GOOD THINGS"
Biking at
night, rollerblading, nice weather,
sunshine, nature,
travel, camping, bonfires, road trips, laughter, genuine friends, attraction, wondering
aimlessly around Target, chemistry, funky hair, museums, Saoirse, games (as
in card/board games), cooking, The Food Network, A&E (I really like
the "The First 48", "Intervention", "Cold Case Files" and
"Biography"), coffee, honesty, morals, thought provoking chit-chat, intelligence, growin'
tomatoes and peeeppers!, wisdom, falling in love, listening to music, reflection, super informal journaling, listening to
the right music at the right moment, humor, autumn, hysterically laughing], sarcasm, banter...
LIST TWO: "BAD THINGS"
People who lie, people who manipulate, tempuratures below 40
degrees (blah!), bad traffic, lack of common sense, Chicago winters (I
can only handle about 10 days without sun before I want to OD on
aspirin...haha), an absence of moral character, white milk...
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
Actually, I'm trying to figure that out. I have a B.A. in Architecture which is just
dandy but I have very little interest in becoming an architect. My
heart is no longer there. Anyway, I'm contemplating returning to
school for my master's in ___________ (viewers choice). This week
I'm tossing around several options; counseling, law or horticulture
:) Durrr. And every now and again I get this urge to just get my
Master's in Architecture. WTF. I'm one of those people who is just
interested in way to many things! In the mean time, I'm work a lame
retail job at night and I'm savin' moola (sort of) :)
As you can see, I'm taking my career one day at a time.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Cooking, anything
which requires common sense/thinking logically, Sudoku, dreaming about the
future, navigating our lovely American roadways (I don't think I've
ever been "lost"!), brewing up some endorphins, ending up three hours
from my house in the
middle of no where because my 'little drive' got out of hand... If I need to
pull something off, I will :)
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
Let's see, I look younger than I am. I'm generally not shy. I do my
own thing. :P
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
I like both non-fiction and fiction. "1984" and "The Fountainhead" were really
great. "The Fountainhead" was long but worth it. I also do a lot of
reading on the internet, like Wikipedia articles and stuff :) That
site is so damn addicting.
Movies are SOOOO long!! I don't have the attention span to sit
through a movie. Haha! I suppose I'm open to a wide variety of
movies. I can definitely say that I love 'dark' themes, like dark
comedies, weird suspense/thrillers, etc. A few movies that I'll
love forever are Meet The Parents, Best In Show,
Pulp
Fiction, Napoleon Dynamite(I look at
chapstick in a whole new way), Fargo, American Beauty, No Country For
Old Men, Blow,
The Goonies,
Babel, Raising Arizona,
There's Something
About Mary (FRANK AND BEANS!), Planes,
Trains, and Automobiles, Catch Me If You Can(It's
freakin' based on a true story!), Road To Perdition, Kill Bill I & II (and
I love the soundtrack!)...
I'm all over the board with the music thing. I like anything from
old 90's rap like
Snoop and Dre, to dance/electronic music (LOVE IT!), to punk,
to alternative, to lo-fi, to chick music, to classic rock, to
oldies. I draw the line at country and metal, both of which I find
traumatizing. Anyway, here are some of my flavors of the month:
Coldplay,
Death Cab
For Cutie, Beck(mainly 'Guero'), Digitalism, Fiest, The White Stripes, Tom Petty, Beyonce, Regina Spektor(love her!),
Motion
City Soundtrack, "80's Goes Punk" (a compilation CD that was
probably about $4.99 at Target))... I'm also diggin' a few songs by
Beyonce, Estelle, Lady Gaga and some mystery song I hear every now
and again that has some line about 'pastel trailer parks'. I don't
know who does it or what it's called but I love it. Let me mention
that I'm really, really bad at remembering music 'stuff'. If you
ask me about specific songs/albums I often get all blank and
vegetative looking. What's actually happening at is that I'm
desperately trying to pry some sort of logical response from my
mangled brain which doesn't like to store trivia-type information
for too long. So, please don't ask me what my favorite song is
because I don't know what it's called.
Mexican!!!,
Sushi, Thai, deep dish pizza, thin crust pizza, BBQ
pizza, hell...I like BBQ anything, roasted vegetables with pasta, burgers, omelettes/skillets, Sangria, classic lime
margaritas on
the rocks with a salted rim, anything exotic (minus bugs, rodents and common
house pets), food with strong flavors, spicy foods, chili, BBQ... I love to try and eat healthy however I have a
weak spot for chocolate desserts and for most foods that taste
good. I really, really hate raw oysters and white milk...but choco
milk is rockin'!
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
1. the Internet +
laptop (I could give up ALL modern amenities and live like a
cavewoman but I could not give these up!) 2. coffee 3. method of transport (bike,
blades, car...anything to get me around) 4. fabulous summer evenings 5. pizza 6. last but definitely
not least, Saoirse.
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
Moving somewhere with beautiful weather. I love the changing
seasons so I'd be quit content living somewhere with a temperate
climate (well, at least mild winters). My future and my path in life. My
disfunctional family. Why it seems difficult to find
moral, ethical yet fun peeps. Meeting someone
awesome who thinks
I'm awesome and I think they're awesome and then everything is just
f'n awesome. How different Cubs fans and Sox fans really are (Go
Cubs!). Getting a tattoo but always talking myself out of
it. The show "Reno 911" and why I find it hysterical. My hair and
what color(s) I'd like to dye it. Being a positive role model for Saoirse so she can
always be healthy
and happy. It sounds
cliche but I SOOOO deeply mean it.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
On Friday?!?! Usually working. Just for shits and grins let's
pretend for a second that it's a Saturday---At the Peterson's
House. At Barnes and Noble. At my house.
Reading. Watching
something on the Food Network. Watching "Man vs. Wild". Glued
to my computer/the Internet. At Meijer during the bewitching hour.
Sitting around a campfire (I wish I could do this every
Friday!). Bars are ok every once and a while but I'd rather be
hanging out at a friend's house and maybe have a beer or a glass of
wine.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I'll admit a few things:
I'm scared of barf. I eat cereal with a fork. I think adopting a little
kid would be really
cool. I don't like
being bossed around. I owned a BMX bike when I was 13 and it was a DAMN
nice one. I think farts are funny. They always make me
giggle.
Damn, I spill all my secrets ;)
You should message me if Propose an edit
I tend to like people who aren't 100% immature but definitely capable of
being immature and childish when it's necessary :P I'd
like to meet intelligent people, people who love
the outdoors, people who have character and important thoughts and
ideas brewin' in their melon. Message me if you just want to hang
out as friends. I
love friends :)
