Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
"Kilimanjaro is a snow-covered mountain 19,710 feet high, and is
said to be the highest mountain in Africa. Its western summit is
called the Masai "Ngaje Ngai," the House of God. Close to the
western summit there is the dried and frozen carcass of a leopard.
No one has explained what the leopard was seeking at that
I know why the leopard was there. Do you?
If that's too cryptic, you'll just have to email me.

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to squeeze some pleasure and/or meaning from life. (I'll
take one or the other. Both on the same day is a bonus!) That's

I read. A lot. Both fiction and non-fiction. And a newspaper every
day. (I know, I know, so Twentieth Century. Sue me.)
Rather than regurgitate a list of artists that will tune you right
out I'll say that I like almost all music-Rock, Jazz, Blues
Classical, Country (real country, not Pop with a twang) Punk-it all
works for me. Not a big rap fan, (no susprise there considering my
age) and most Top 40 pop music I find a bit boring. I prefer rough
with emotion over polished and flat.
This week I've been listening to:
Miles Davis-Kind of Blue (it never gets old!) and The Birth of
Rolling Stones: Sticky Fingers and Let It Bleed (perfect hot
Beach Boys: Endless Summer-also perfect hot weather music.
Perfectly crafted 2 and half minute pop songs.
Beethoven: I've been going through the Symphonies again.
Jeff Beck and Jan Hammer Group Live: Rockin' Fusion.
Cowboy Junkies: Trinity Sessions. One of the great
I love motion pictures. All genres, eras, subjects and styles are
fair game. Again, no lists. I prefer substance over style and smart
over stupid. Think Monty Python over Adam Sandler, the Coen
Brothers over Tony Scott.
In the last couple of weeks: Argo, Cloud Atlas (much better than I
expected!) The Maltese Falcon (maybe the single best book to screen
adaptation ever) Dipping into Supernatural Seasons 1-5 (Why I love
this series is beyond explanation. But I do.) The Road (maybe one
of the worst book to screen adaptations ever) and The Wild Bunch.

Lots of things. Where the Wild Things Are. I know where Ameila
Erhardt, Judge Crater and Jimmy Hoffa are at this very moment. How
many licks it takes to get to the middle of a Tootsie pop. Why the
sea is boiling hot and whether pig have wings. Just not in print.
