My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
So here’s the dealio: I’m a super sweet, highly sensitive guy (it doesn’t make sense b/c I’m a lawyer), and I have a lot of love to give. I strive to be authentic and I am very down to earth, accepting and tolerant. I am a divorcee, but am not completely jaded on love. I am inspired by people expressing and demonstrating their love for each other (i.e. I usually cry at weddings). I put my dog of 14 years to sleep on March 27, 2013 (I had a bunch of friend there and we were singing to her and chanting as she died, which was really beautiful), and I am only just now healing from her passing.

I am highly passionate about almost everything I do, I am constantly working to inspire others, I have a sharp wit, I can be quite silly (my buddy’s wife says that we have the goofball gene), I know how to have fun (I have been to Burning Man 13 of the last 16 years). I love costuming. I also love to have quiet, down time. I am a big lover of the arts, especially film and music. I sing in a men's chorus, called Conspiracy of Beards (check out our website at conspiracyofbeards.com), and we sing all Leonard Cohen songs. We have been around for about 11 years (I just finished my second season) and I love it. I work hard and play hard. I have some of the most amazing friends who keep me constantly socially engaged and give me tremendous support when I need it.

I eat well, including a lot of organic veggies, hardly any processed foods and mostly healthy food. I get regular massages, chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture and I have been doing private Pilates for more than 10 years. I ride my bike to work a great deal of the time. I sometimes swim and I am in good shape.

I'm a big lover. I love people and I love this beautiful planet which we are not giving enough love. I am striving to live my life in the most balanced, holistic way possible.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Having fun! Am a tenant lawyer and have my own law partnership in San Francisco. I have my own flat in SF. I am a Board Member of International Rivers Network and on the Advisory Board of the Accountability Counsel; I sing in the Conspiracy of Beards and I support many NGOs; In the past: got a B.A. from UCSB; am a former UCSB Student Body President, got a J.D. from New College.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Practicing law and suing slumlords, intimacy, friendship, listening, supporting people, being social, massage (I have a license in massage therapy which I got before I went to law school), singing in key some of the time in the shower and maybe with the Beards, Karaoke, basketball, ping pong, fashion, costuming, juggling, letting my little boy out to play, laughing, being silly, hanging with diverse crews of bad ass bohemians, getting my arse out of bed and doing shit, Burning Man and much more.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm really ugly! No, some think I'm good looking, so they might notice that first. Maybe my long sideburns or my long eyelashes and my eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I love film, have a top 10, 100, 200 and 500 list which is getting expanded. So I watch a lot of films. I love Terry Gilliam, Wes Anderson, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Marc Caro, Woody Allen, Andrei Tarkovsky, Coen Brothers, Kubrick, John Sayles, Robert Altman, Kurosawa, Mike Leigh, Spielberg, Scorsese, Almodovar, Ang Lee, Gus Van Sant, Hal Ashby, Hitchcock, Welles, etc.

I am a huge music fan and my taste is very eclectic (I could name 15 genres and 100+ artists off the top of my head). I go to a lot of concerts. I can get into almost any kind of music at the right time and place.

If you're not into film or music, then you probably wouldn't want to date me.

As for TV, Game of Throne is my current fave. MASH is my favorite all time show, but I like a lot of old shows better than much of what is coming out now. I like mostly HBO series and the Daily Show, the Colbert Report and Democracy Now.

I also love to read, but don't do enough of it. I especially love Rumi, Hafiz, Neruda and Wendell Berry poetry. I love Alice Walker, Vonnegut, Toni Morrison, Tom Robbins (Jitterbug Perfume is one of my favorites of all time), Barbara Kingsolver, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Herman Hesse, Amy Tan, Pynchon, John Irving, Arundhati Roy, Tolkien, Isabel Allende, Issac Assimov, Doestoevsky and so many others.

And I love food. I'm not a foodie, but I appreciate good food. I love Indian, Thai, Italian, Ethiopian, American, Chinese, raw, vegetarian/vegan and just about any other cuisine.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Affection/touch/sex, love, food, air, me friends, nature: forests, desert, ocean/rivers/lakes, etc., music/books/films/other art.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Romance and how to make this world a better place. My cases. If I were to have a kid or two at some point, I'm sure I will think about them much of the time and everything I need or want to do for them.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Every Friday night is different. I could be watching a film, out with friends at a party/concert/dinner party, on my way out of town or smoking some greenery and drinking wine with a friend. Or dozens of other possibilities. Doing a concert with Conspiracy of Beards. There is no typical anything with me. Every day is different with my work life and personal life. I almost never get bored and my life is incredibly fulfilling. I have lived a charmed life.
