My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
UPDATE: I will be in Spain for a week, so I may be slow to respond to stuff, and things… and; no. You can't have my address.

Up for a good time but still trying to figure it all out… life that is, not laughing. Can I fill this bit in later when I've thought of something witty yet worthwhile to write?

I probably should mention upfront: I am very specifically not looking for anything mynogamous and/or long term, other than friendship.

And just to be clear, that does not mean that I am looking for casual sex. I'm looking for friendship as a primary driver here.

To that end, what am I looking for from this process? Probably just stimulating conversation. In my experience, if the conversation flows well, the rest follows.

Or to put it in the words of St. Pinter: "A giggle and a cuddle. Sometimes my ambitions extend no further than that."
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently working on becoming a bicycle mechanic in the hope of one day having my own bike shop… pipe dreams but slowly yet surely I'm getting there.

I also have ideas of artistic endeavour utilising the bits that get cut off/thrown away in bicycle maintenance. This is very much a work in progress.

Basically my days consist of getting up, drinking tea, packing a bag and then cycling in a direction until I find something to do. This comes on the back of 13 long hard years of working in the city and at the expense of living at my Dads. Yes. I am aware of just how cool that makes me sound.

I have Spain as a general destination for a bit of travelling. Looking to do more. I have air miles from my former incarnation and no travel buddy.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Cooking, cycling, playing the bass guitar badly, reassuring those I care about, partying, shit puns, inappropriate jokes, not getting toothpaste in my beard, DJing whilst wearing a Mexican wrestling mask. Ok, that last ones a lie, I'm a terrible DJ.

Oh! And arguing with people on the brilliance of John Barry: hero
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My beard. The fact that I look "foreign" or "exotic" but actually come from a very "white" background. And my laugh, which is quite dirty.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Graham Greene, Alan Moore, Graphic Novels, Don Quixote, Ian Rankin, Jon Ronson, Hunter S. Thompson (hence the username), George Orwell, Catch 22, Stewart Home, all fiction, non-fiction, anything… but I will throw away a book if it does nothing for me.

Horror, documentary, action, comedy, tragic b movies, comic book reboots, drama, sci-fi; that said, will give anything a watch, but will moan through it if it's awful, which I know is a completely subjective ball ache, but who's to say anything should be easy. And virtually anything by the Coen Brothers.

If you prefer specific films; Kubrick: Dr Strangelove is my favourite, but almost everything he ever did was golden.

Blade Runner always gets a watch when I'm either ill or bored.

Old movies: Some Like It Hot, The Big Sleep, anything with Bogart, the Marx Brothers, etc.

Documentary, Californication, House (I kind of want to be a cross between Hank Moody and Dr Greg House, minus the vikadin addiction, and statutory rape, and bitterness), pretty much anything by HBO, love the BBC, and will happily rant at anyone about the validity of the licence fee.

Mainly post rock and metal. That said, I'll give anything a listen, but I have recently found out who Justin Beiber, Miley Cyrus, and Taylor Swift are, actually I don't think I know who they are, I just now know of them. If you're religious about listening to radio 1, or just one musical genre, and completely closed minded to any other kind of music, please don't contact me, I'm all about broadening my and others horizons.

I'll eat anything, I just can't do smoked fish.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Tricky, how to seem erudite, desirable, attractive and not some completely vacuous, materialistic cock? Hmmmm.

1) cats. I love cats. To a ridiculous level. I lost mine when splitting with an ex. This makes me sad everyday. I befriend random cats in the street and consider taking them home with me. This happens more than I'd care to admit.

2) records. I collect vinyl. Vociferously. I went to a random guys house in Hong Kong and left with a shit load of records for no other reason than to have some mementos.

3) sport. Specifically cricket, cycling and football. I really don't care if you think this makes me a horrible, typical, blokey cunt. Bullshit. I'd happily spend hours, days, weeks, months, years explaining to you the joy of watching sport and enjoying genuine sporting contest.

4) people. Friends and family. I love them both in equal measure. They, in a way, define me.

5) the internet. A source of every gambit of human emotion… plus, I'm shite at actually remembering things.

6) quiet/alone time. This is essential.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I also spend a lot of time thinking about the career change and how I'm going to affect that.

Life, the universe and everything.

My friends.

Why am I looking in this drawer?

Whether everyone on OKC really doesn't have a typical Friday night or if some, all or none of you are liars, and if there is some degree of porky telling going on, what percentage is lying and how do I figure out the pork pies from the solid gold truth?

I've also been spending increasing amounts of time thinking about how, if this country had a rational view on the criminality of both drugs and prostitution then Angus Deaton would still be hosting Have I Got News For You.

Wondering if I subconsciously judge people based upon their music choices on long format dating applications?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either in bed watching films, out with friends, or out with my family. Usually the latter entails dinner with the rents then out with the siblings until someone falls over.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I own a crobar solely for the zombie apocalypse

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you want to. If you'd like someone to spend a bit of time with. If you like someone who isn't just every other person out there, someone who will treat you with respect. If you like movies, cycling, walking round town with no particular purpose, talking, eating, drinking, laughing til you can't see from the tears and your stomach hurts.

Oh and you like big beardy acerbic men.

Or if you can tell me why I'm looking in this drawer?
