I grew up outside of Washington, DC, came to SF from NYC in early
2002, and love it here. I spent most of my twenties moving around -
worked in London, trekked around Europe, spent the better part of a
year living out of a car and a tent in Australia, worked &
studied in Chile - basically my passport was my best friend. At
some point I realized it might be nice to be in one spot for
awhile, and be one of those people whose social circle isn't spread
out across multiple time zones, so I've spent the last 8yrs or so
in the US, spending time with my family, and seeing some more of
the National Parks. Just getting back into the dating scene, and my
work schedule (nights, every other weekend) makes it a little
tricky to meet people randomly, so here I am online. Looking to
meet someone solid, maybe a partner - see where it goes.
Anything involving the ocean makes me happy. I used to surf a lot, and its probably the one thing I'd drop everything else to do. Work schedule has been getting in the way lately, but I try to play softball once a week, play on a coed team & love it. Anything that gets me outside is generally good. I like exploring the city on foot and browsing neighborhoods Going to the movies, new restaurants, dancing, museums, or out for live music are close seconds. I like to cook, I like to build things, I like to laugh, and I like people.
Being from the East Coast originally, I think there is something to the idea of Winter having snow, Summer being hot and involving at least one trip to the Atlantic (read warm water, beach, boardwalk & fried foods), and Autumn being full of bright colored leaves and perfect lightweight jacket weather. Having said that, I can't imagine not living in San Francisco right now, so I compromise by making a bunch of trips East during the year.
I'd like to meet someone I can have a conversation with, who laughs easily & knows themselves well. I love meeting people who are passionate about something they do. Ultimately its hard to prescribe this stuff in an "essay". Drop me an email; invest an hour or so in person, and let's see.
