My Self-Summary
I am a scientist who just graduated from a Masters program at BU. I
work in industry and love it. When I'm not at work, I love
reading, knitting, hiking, canoeing, and despairing over the lack
of "The
Mighty Boosh" in America. I own two cats who are dumber than
rocks, but still super cute. Well, the old one is angry, but he's
just a cranky old man. Summer finds me outside (or window gazing)
and winter finds me catching up on my Netflix queue, but reading is year
round. I own Muppets Monopoly, but would rather take you on at
Scrabble or Trivial Pursuit. I love cooking and baking, and am slightly sad that
football on the
weekend is almost over. Is spring training here yet?
What I’m doing with my life
I just got my first really really real job with a business card and
everything! It's a small biotech company, and I love it!
I’m really good at
Reading. I can read an entire book in a few hours--it took six to
read the last Harry Potter. Also I'm good at knitting, as my
friends can attest to. And I'm getting better at photography.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes. Unless I've dyed my hair some really funky colour.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I can't choose a favourite book. I just can't. Favourite I read in
the last 30 days is Mistress of the Art of Death. Movies, always
Young Frankenstein. Music, too eclectic to call, since I'm happy to
listen to Feist, Dave Matthews, Carmina Burana and tango on the
same playlist. Food is ALL good. I'm best at cooking italian and
polish, so those are my faves.
The six things I could never do without
Books, family, yarn, camera, Red Sox, friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How much I love fall, and season changes in general. And the next
time I'm going out for dim sum.
On a typical Friday night I am
On the couch, possibly with a beer, watching a new Doctor Who. If
the season is over, then a Sox game or a movie. I end up out during
the week, so the weekend is for crashing!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I once fell up the stairs. I'm pretty sure I got a minor
concussion.
