My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm usually pretty laid back, but give me the right topic and you'll see the fire in my eyes. I'm very much at home in the unconventional and avant-garde side of life. I think that smart is almost always sexy. I'm an intellectual, but not a snob. I take silliness very seriously, and seriousness very sillily. Silllily? Sillily. Clocks are my mortal enemies. Sincerity and open-mindedness are essential, and a sense of humor is everything.

I'm currently up to my neck in grad school and don't always have a ton of time to randomly meet new people in the outside world, so here I be. If you're fun and want to grab a drink or some coffee, then you should definitely shoot me a message!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working on a PhD in physics. Learning some pretty nifty things about the universe that have zero relevance to everyday life.

Hanging out with friends, watching copious amounts of Netflix, reading 20 books at the same time (literally, and literaturely), and generally enjoying life.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening. I like to hear what people have to say. Seeing only one point of view is boring and dangerous. So, tell me something!

Overthinking. The world is like an onion. If you peel back enough of the layers, it'll make you cry. They say chewing gum helps...

Bringing people to the verge of laughter. You can only lead a horse to water... Don't be like that horse.

Getting lost. I once went to find a bathroom and ended up walking across a highway and an active construction site on the way. True story. Never ask me for directions unless you want a good story of your own :P
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
It's weird, but people say my eyelashes all the time.

Less tangibly, it's my sense of humor. I'm a huge dork and you're gonna love it. Also, legend has it I'm pretty easy to talk to. But I, for one, never listen to rumors.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- Lots and lots of bookmarks.
- The moon. Ah-ooooo!
- Hearty laughter. Ho ho ho.
- That first sip of cold water after a workout.
- A million and one open browser tabs.
- The barely-contained insanity of Mr. Nicolas Cage.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Witty retorts. Eye-rolling be damned, a sharp mind is a happy mind!

Symbolism, patterns, language, how everything is related under the hood. Any and all things philosophy.

Zen, the eternal now, and being present.

Negative space and reading between the lines.

How to think in 10 dimensions. My brains hurt...

Would I follow the white rabbit? What's he so late for anyway?

What if people were less alienated from each other on a busy city street? Sociology and the theory of social interaction and organization.

Seeing the big picture. And then, trying to find Waldo in it. He's slippery, that one...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out and about, or movies and Chinese food with friends.

Or if I'm too tired, I'll focus my chi and become one with my couch. Then Netflix it up.

But sometimes I'm stuck inside, grading papers or trying to solve the universe.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
If left completely to my own devices, I become nocturnal.

I began to appreciate trees a lot more once I started thinking of them as giant fractal monsters.
