Is it just me, or every time you message someone for the first time it feels like your giving them a job interview after reading a resume?  I need to figure out how to make talking to people for the first time come across more natural.  Any ideas folks?

An image of burnedwonton I always appreciate it when people directly address why they're messaging me...Less "how are you?" nonsense from strangers, and "Man, I love that novel too, did you read this?"

It's the same thing in person, you know? You don't make small talk with the person in line ahead of you about how their day is going if you don't know them, you mutually gripe about the person ahead of them with 400 expired coupons.
