My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Chicago native living in Rogers Park.

I love to travel. Internationally, I've been to Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto and Kingston, Jamaica (where my family emigrated from). Domestically, I've been to Los Angeles, Miami, Jacksonville, Seattle and Washington, D.C. I would love to expand this list. Places on my bucket list include: Sydney, Vietnam, South Korea, Europe and South Africa.

I enjoy multicultural environments. Knowledge from only one source tends to get stale pretty quickly. I like knowing where people stand on some issues, even if I don't necessarily agree with it. This helps me understand people a bit more and enjoy the human experience.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have a pretty good job in downtown Chicago. Working with people who are genuinely excited about their line of work (Talent Management) and share their knowledge without batting an eye has made me appreciate my job even more.

I love to practice my language skills, both native and learned. I'm fascinated with other cultures, but I remember where I come from. Learning how to communicate with other people is a passion of mine. I also volunteer my time helping ESL students with their English.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Baking

Learning new languages and helping non-native English speakers with their studies

Solving problems at work when all I really did was use google. But keep that one a secret, will you?
The first things people usually notice about me

My observational humor
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Anything by Christopher Moore, Kite Runner, 日本人の知らない日本語, The Color of Water, Of Mice and Men, Pest Control, Hunger Games Series, Enrique's Journey

Movies: Comedies, Blockbusters, Thrillers. The only movie I can recite quotes from is Rush Hour 2.

Music: My favorite song is the one that goes like this: "dun dun dun, uh, uh, dun dun." Bonus points if you know the one I'm talking about. Im a fan of most music, mostly pop, alternative and hip-hop.

TV: I just found out that I really enjoy Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder (don't worry, I'm not taking notes!). I also enjoy watching HGTV and the Food Network. Legend of Korra anyone?

Food: One thing I love about Chicago is that you can go to different neighborhoods and feel like you stepped in another country. I love going to Lincoln Square for my German beer and brats; further up Lincoln Ave. for some Korean; Pilsen for some Mexican; feeling ritzy in River North (rarely!); or going home for some comfort Jamaican food. My first job was in a bakery, I used to make different cakes and cookies.
The six things I could never do without

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.

On a typical Friday night I am

Wondering why I didn't plan anything. Then I remember that spontaneity can be fun, too!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
