I grew up in Boston and since I was 20 I have worked as an artist. I lived in Europe after high school and what should have been college. 12 years ago I landed here in NY and I still think it is one of the greatest cities in the world. I owned and ran a few businesses here in NY but I got out of them right before the market crash in 2008 and am currently finishing up my degree in finance at NYUpoly.
I am deeply interested in how science and art meet and interact, especially in spaces where we play. I grew up with scientists and artists which maybe explains my interest in the two fields of study. I have been writing about organizational psychology / behavior and how it relates to creative types, new endeavors, and activism.
MacGyver was my childhood hero and probably the reason I know how to make lots of useful but ridiculous things out of household, office, and trash items. I have joint custody of my child so making these things is a favorite family activity when my kid is with me.
Like everyone else here on okc I have somewhat eclectic interests that tend to go too far . Some interests I have seriously pursued are ballet ( I danced for about 7 years and took the RAD exams as a kid, I fought competitively at 185lbs in muay thai and MMA for most of my 20s, I like shoe making and leather working, tramp l'oeil painting, and right now I am learning to sew. Unfortunately I am better at eating food than I am at cooking it, guess you can't have it all.
