I sell my knowledge of information technology to anyone in need. On my freetime I like doing nerd stuff as well, but I also like going to the gym and going out for a walk or cycling in the summer. Spending time with my friends is what I like doing very much. Especially on our summer cottage.

Computer stuff, understanding other people's needs, my mother tongue Finnish: seeing spelling or grammar mistakes in public signs or in the newspaper makes me quite annoyed - especially since the Finnish language is one of the easiest to spell correctly. That's why there are no such things as spelling contests in Finland. There would be little point in having one since an eight year old can memorize all the exceptions.

My robust yet friendly appearance

Back in the day I still read fiction I can remember liking at least John Steinbeck and a few others. Those days are now gone. For a long time I haven't found the time nor the motivation for reading anything else than factual literature. It's a pity, I admit. Well, I will have my pension in less than 40 years. Then I will have time :)

I like good movies regardless of where they were produced. In contrast, I hate most of the stuff Hollywood produces (but not all). An attempt to recall my positive movie experiences of the past gives me director Michael Mann as an example (now that it came to my mind, I should go catch Miami Vice some day). There are lots of other good ones. On the negative side, my basic rule of thumb tells me that if a movie has been touched by Jerry Bruckheimer, it should be avoided.

I like many kinds of music. I exclude only stuff that is uninteresting because the same songs have been written a million times: country, sclager, house, trance, chart pop. And within any genre it is always possible to apply the xerox method. The result is _usually_ of lesser quality than the original. Everything else, stuff with at least some degree of originality usually passes my test. For those of you who didn't check out my last.fm profile, my top ten list for the last year seems to be: 1. I enjoy cooking very much. I experiment a lot. I cook fish, meat, mushrooms, vegetarian stuff, soups, asian food, you name it.

What ever comes to my mind. I am usually thinking about something. I constantly observe my surroundings and if find something interesting I automatically start thinking about why it is there, who designed it, why it is the way it is, why it is not green and spiked, why the hell I am having all these thoughts... :)

Either on my couch recovering from the work week or having a beer or ten with my friends somewhere.
