My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm an East Coaster and a girl from the South. So I love ambition as well as chivalry in all it's forms.

I'm a mix of kind of old-fashioned and thoroughly modern. Hopefully, you'll appreciate that I'm the kind of girl who listens to geeky history and tech podcasts when she's in the shower and likes Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald when she's not. I tend to be funny, slightly shy - and simultaneously complex and simple.

I really, really, really hate to be bored. I love hitting museums, art galleries, wine bars, new restaurants. I'm mostly an urban explorer and I'm not super-outdoorsy, but I do like the occasional camping trip. I'm usually a high heels and dresses kind of girl, but I grew up hunting and fishing, so I like an occasional dose of the outdoors. I do firmly believe that running should be reserved for when someone is chasing you. :)

I like men (of all races) who are both confident and kind, cultured yet down-to-earth.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I run an organization for startup entrepreneurs and consult the City of SF on technology product development.

Building stuff.

Spending time with my friends as often as possible.

I've been working really hard lately, but I would like to meet someone who inspires me to take some downtime.

It would be great if that was a fellow person in tech or at least someone who understands the life of an entrepreneur.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people laugh.
Entertaining myself - I'm an only child.
Keeping promises.
Being a good friend.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Major smile wattage. That I actually dress like I give a damn (yoga pants aren't actual clothes).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I love books and I still go to libraries (I could spend hours there), so I'm always reading something. Right now, it's The Innovators (Walter Isaacson), a book about the genesis of the birth control pill, and a healthy soul food cookbook. Some of my latest favorites are: The Hard Thing About Hard Things, Tales of the City, Season of the Witch (San Francisco's crazy, intriguing, fucked up history), and almost anything by Octavia Butler.

Podcasts: Stuff You Missed in History Class, This American Life, Fresh Air, Stuff You Should Know, The Read

Movies: Tons of documentaries lately. Other favorites: Oceans 11, Election, Marnie, Rear Window, The Princess Bride, The September Issue, Grey Gardens, Paris is Burning. Anything campy and fabulous.

TV Shows: Walking Dead (zombie apocalypse!!), The Blacklist, The Following, Criminal Minds, Archer, Louie, South Park. I tend to like shows that are either really funny or weird and scary.

Lots of Shirley Bassey, Eartha Kitt, and Peggy Lee lately. I love a good torch song.

I'm pretty genre agnostic, so I could be listening to pop, hip-hop, country. I listen to old school country when I'm feeling melancholy.

Some stuff I'm listening to right now: Alabama Shakes, Jay-Z, Nas, Dinah Washington, 90's dancehall, 60's blues and R&B, 90's hip hop, old country (Waylon Jennings, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton), new country (Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Pistol Annies), Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra.

I'm also not too good to listen to Migos.

Healthy with regular hedonistic indulgences. I couldn't imagine depriving myself for the sake of anything so mundane as a 'diet'. I love red wine (especially Italian reds) and really good food.

Faves: French, Thai, Vietnamese, sushi, ramen, mac & cheese, oysters, seafood, pho, chicken & waffles...I love it all. I judge restaurants by the quality of their beef tartare. I'm obsessed.

I'm also not very into sweets, so I usually pass on dessert. I know, it's weird.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. The Lifetime Channel
2. all of my cats
3. black tar heroin
4. my collection of Modern Bride magazines
5. Jack Daniels
6. Michael Bolton
7. a calculator

Also, a heavy dose of sarcasm-laden humor. If you can't take a joke, then we're not going to be a good match.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to escape the impending zombie apocalypse. Tech. The internets. Startups. Business. My future.

I'm just the right amount of geeky.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Sitting on my couch wondering who watched all those Beyonce videos in my YouTube history.

- OR -

Sometimes working.

- OR -

Happy hour with friends and then in for the night. Maybe a movie before I crash? I'm just as likely to go out on a work night as I am a weekend night.

- BUT -

I would love to spend it cooking dinner with someone special or sharing a meal out at a restaurant we both love.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
There's a photo of me in my high school yearbook reading Ayn Rand. *cringe*
