My self-summary
**I am not looking for connections outside the SF Bay Area**

Time is the commodity in shortest supply, so I an giving preference to current connections, and longer term possibilities

I'm ultimately looking for a fabulous relationship filled with chemistry, connection, laughter, and love. Also looking for the rest of my tribe of like-minded people. Intimacy is better over time, and quality's better than quantity.

I'm a huge geek for art, dance, music, tech and science. I'm addicted to coffee, reading, and staying up too late. As far as vices go, I'm pretty happy with these.

Sapiosexual. I firmly believe the largest sex organ is the brain. Relationships start with liberal doses of lust, trust, reciprocity and romance, and grow with attention and affection.

Communication is sexy. Kissing is an art. Laughter, showers, hot coffee, and snuggling have healing powers - they're just not available in pharmaceutical form - yet. It will happen. Trust me.

I'm creative, hard working, passionate, confident, whimsical, and tenacious. I love spontaneity and whimsy, but need a stable home base. If you crave (or are surrounded by) chaos and drama, please forget you ever saw this profile.

I'm interested in: honesty, integrity, communication, conversation, laughter, joy, the creative process, geek culture, superheroes, synthetic biology, maker culture, exploring your inner scientist, poetry, photography, art deco, mid-century modern design, 20th century painters, dance, music, Frida Kahlo, Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, toe-tingling kisses, sparkly shiny things, and large mugs of strong coffee.

Pansexual. I'm attracted to the person, not just their swimsuit parts, and that includes a variety of types. Things that catch my eye include: bright eyes (with a mischievous twinkle), a bit (or a heap) of an edge, a knowing smirk, height, beautiful expressive hands, kindness and confidence.

Physical chemistry combined with big brains and witty repartee = kryptonite. *swoon*
What I’m doing with my life
Figuring out what I want the next phase of my life to be. :-)

I spent a decade in my last relationship, so seeing what and whom make me happiest now, and being a great mom to my boys is my focus. I'm not resting on what I know, but rather, being curiously mindful.

I'm not sure what my long term relationship structure looks like, but I know it's about asking for what I need and want, and helping you do the same, operating from a place of abundance vs. fear, being open, and sharing vs. competing. How do we create the space where we each get what we need, and and still be the strong, vulnerable, loving people we are? I'm not sure on all the details yet, but I'm testing out ideas, and figuring it out. I'd love to hear what you think. :-)

I work hard at a career I love, co-parent my twin boys, hang out with friends, date, stay active, read and travel. Lots to do - wanna do something together?
I’m really good at
I have an uncanny ability for sizing up situations (and interview candidates) quickly. I can usually tell where the connections are (and aren't) and how it will break before the cracks are even visible.

People talk to me - really talk to me - often saying "I don't know why I'm telling you this" as they say it. It's one of my superpowers. Fortunately, like Superman, I only use my powers for good.

I'm great at opening the fridge and creating a tasty dinner from a handful of random bits.

I can isolate DNA in about 5 minutes using basic household chemicals.

I remember lyrics to songs from eons ago, and hold a ton of useless trivia in my brain. Makes me a wicked good game partner.

All that said, I'm also famous among friends and loved ones for watching a movie and forgetting how it ends. Seriously.

Oh, and I'm a great kisser. Play your cards right, and you can see for yourself. ;)
The first things people usually notice about me
* My eyes (bright baby blues) if you're close to me. My cleavage if you're not.

* My accessories match. It's a sickness, but it is what it is. I've given up trying to fight it.

* I look much younger than I am. Good Genetics FTW!!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
BOOKS: Books, yes. I've spent lots of time with my nose in a book since I started reading at 3. I love the written words of Jeanette Winterson, Rumi, Pablo Neruda, Flannery O'Connor, Dr. Seuss, Neil Gaiman, Harlan Ellison, William Morrow, Margaret Atwood, Grant Morrison, Alice Sebold, Leonard Cohen, and Anais Nin. Always have a stack of books precariously perched above my bed (and on my tablet) that I'm currently reading, or can't wait to get my paws on.

Some all-time faves include: Lighthousekeeping, The World And Other Places, Still Life With Woodpecker, The Life You Save May Be Your Own, Coraline, Horton Hears A Who, The Mambo Kings Play Songs of Love, Jefty Is Five, and The Little Prince.

MOVIES: Love movies by Alfred Hitchcock, the Coen Brothers, Christopher Nolan, and Pedro Almodovar.

Some of my favorite entertainers/fictional characters are:
*Amanda Fucking Palmer
* William The Bloody (Spike)
* Neil Gaiman (ask me about meeting him while pregnant)
* Atticus Finch (best father role model EVER)
* Wonder Woman (her creator's private life is super interesting too)
* Joan Jett (tie for first girl crush)
* Diana Riggs as Emma Peel (other half of tie for first girl crush. Cat suit, anyone?)
* Lawrence of Arabia (Peter O'Toole has never been more stunningly beautiful.)
* David Bowie (origin of attraction to "androgyny in eyeliner")
* Robert Smith (androgyny in eyeliner part deux)
* Movies with clothing by Edith Head are visually delicious (with Bell, Book and Candle at the top of the list).

MUSIC: I have widely eclectic musical tastes. Music is *very* important to me. (I was a semi-pro tribal fusion bellydancer for over a decade.) If it's "got a good beat, you can dance to it", I will. If it's got exotic instruments, a wicked bass line, multiple layers and/or syncopated rhythm, and distinctive vocals - I'm mesmerized.

Currently in heavy rotation are: Sia, Fort Knox Five, Phantogram, Band of Horses, The National, The Cure, Nina Simone, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, Tycho, Vera Ward Hall, Beats Antique, The xx, Beck, Beirut, David Bowie, Eels, Elliott Smith, Etta James, Explosions in The Sky, X, Zoe Keating, Lila Downs, Muse, and Natacha Atlas.

Suffice it to say, whatever you're into, I'm sure we've got some overlap. I've got my favorites, but always looking for my new favorite song du jour.

FOOD: Love to cook, but don't do it every day.
The six things I could never do without
I *could* live without many of these, I simply wouldn't *want* to.

My Kids
Lip Gloss (lips need hydration after lots of kissing)

I know that's more than 6. I'm not a huge follower of arbitrary rules.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The mysteries of the human condition.

How I'm ever gonna get the boys to school on time since I've stayed up far too late. Again....

Why so many of my high matches are in Oakland and the North East Bay, why people lie about their age, and what I'll be doing a year from now.

How to get that song snippet to stop running through my head. Random bits of music often come to mind when I'm reading/doing/hearing something, and stay there. It's like having a soundtrack to your life right inside your head!

How long it will be until I can get uploaded body mods. I *really* want chameleon type skin that I can change to match my mood. Or outfit. Or whatever. :)
On a typical Friday night I am
I don't have a typical pattern anymore, but it often includes decompressing from the week, hanging with my kids, or out doing something. Vague, but true.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm afraid of grasshoppers.

Never been to Burning Man, but performed at decompression events for years. Go figure.

I speak Unicorn.
