My self-summary
I am just a silly gal from the TX Hill Country who speaks Russian and wants to live life to the fullest! And since I'm living here in Dallas, I guess I should add the disclaimer that I root for the best basketball team in the NBA--> Go Spurs Go!

I'm looking for someone who is strong-minded, has goals, is smart but humble enough to know he'll never know it all. Hopefully he'll have an adventurous side and like to try new things and visit new places. I hope to find someone with a good sense of humor and understands my goofy, silly side. I want someone who can go to a dive bar, but also appreciate throwing fancy dinner parties or going to a museum exhibit now and then.

I can be fairly stubborn and hard-headed. I don't like to give up on someone I believe in, even if they don't treat me right in the short term. In that sense, I'm fairly forgiving, but you can only forgive so much before it makes you wary and distrustful, which will inevitably end a friendship of any kind. I also believe the way I was raised and my small town roots leads me to trust more than I should. So I'm working on instilling this motto into my daily life. Actions>words.
What I’m doing with my life
I find it to be pretty amusing that I often thought my best friend/ college roomie's major in corporate communications was so old school. Who would like writing press releases everyday? And now after way too much schooling (with a little bit more to go) I find myself doing exactly what she went to school for, and it's not at all what I expected it to be! I do corporate communications at a global firm and I specialize in sustainability consulting. I'm fairly passionate about what I do and believe you can bring the "do good" motto to almost any line of work. I thought I would work in the public sector or for a small nonprofit. But then when I started comparing my student debt with those sectors' salaries, and realized a deep seated desire to one day own my own washing machine and dryer, the corporate world didn't seem so bad.

I'm not particularly in love with Dallas. I came here for the job, and I might as well leave for another. I feel like I might do this same job for a while and then see if I can't get placed internationally with my firm. We only live once and I'm ready for more stories and new friends. I feel like I made more friends during my times wondering around than I have all of my 3 years in Dallas.

I also have this little pesky thing called a thesis that needs to be completed so I can honestly claim the masters degrees (yes two) I worked so hard for.

If you can't tell, I'm fairly ambitious with my career right now. But that's not the only thing that is important to me. I enjoy gardening, reading, watching good movies, shopping, experiencing new places and trying new food. I also have been fostering dogs recently, and like being able to help these little guys out, even if for a short period.

I'd like to find someone with common interests, ya know, likes to travel and is adventurous enough to live in a foreign land. Is ambitious and works hard toward goals. Might one day like to own own cleaning machines. Maybe his dishwasher with my washing machine to make a complete home. A home for hosting dinner parties would also be nice. Preferably near public transit.
I’m really good at
uhh, your mom's really good at...j/k. Singing in the shower? Eh. I know a lot of things I'd like to be better at. :)
The first things people usually notice about me
no clue. Ha. I like to wear fun glasses, always! People probably notice that I am an intelligent person with a big heart. They also probably notice that I am a little forgetful at times.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books! I love reading, though grad school has slowed me down some. Some fav books include include:

Master and Margarita
Too Loud a Solitude
To Kill a Mockingbird
Catch-22
Everything is Illuminated
The Unbearable Lightness of Being
Lines of Fate
For Whom the Bell Tolls
In Watermelon Sugar
Trout Fishing in America

Movies: I always have a hard time remembering the names of movies I like for some reason. I liked the new Alice in Wonderland, Finding Nemo, Big Fish, Dan in Real Life, Happy Accidents, Stealing Beauty, Amelie, Crazy Stupid Love, Jeff Who Lives at Home etc. I like scary movies but need someone to watch them with me! Can't watch them alone.

Shows: hmm. Is this shows I've gone to see or tv shows? I'll give ya'll a litlle of both. Last Show I saw was Keane and Ingrid Michelson. I liked Ingrid better than the main show, Keane.

For music: I love almost everything but hard metal/rock. My music taste ranges from country, classical, alternative, hip hop, etc. Current fav's include Ingrid Michelson, Great Big Sea, Band of Horses. It goes on and on. My playlists are usually eclectic. I LOVE T.I. "Whatever you like" but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm looking for a sugar daddy. Ha.

I very much like soulfully weepy music, like The Weepies or Lily Kershaw. But I also love tongue-in-cheek stuff like Lily Allen.

Last food I ate out: tacos. Gotta love a good taco if you live in Texas. I love trying new foods: Indian, Chinese, Korean, good ol' American and Tex Mex. I also love to cook and have been taking cooking lessons at Central Market. They are very fun, but a little expensive.

Last trip I went on: to Tennessee to visit my best friend and her kiddo. I really wanted to do something big for my 30th this year, but I also feel like I need to get some more money put up in savings. Le sigh...responsibility.
The six things I could never do without
my cat, Allie D; my computer; my glasses; shampoo; the sun; friendship

Silly question.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what I am and what I should be doing with my life. I went to college and grad school for one discipline, and have ended up in a completely different one. That may sound normal to some, but for me, it's been an adjustment. I like what I currently am doing, yet I feel that I have unfinished business that I may need to re-visit again.
On a typical Friday night I am
usually vegging at home or taking my neighbor's dogs to the dog park. Wish I knew more people in Dallas.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Some people think I love my cat too much. But I maintain I'm not a cat lady. I just love animals. I grew up with lots of farm animals--goats, rabbits, chickens, lambs, dogs...

But I did recently find "the line." Allie Cat will not be at my wedding, if I ever did get married.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 25–35
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
...you are not a creep. Don't be creepy. Dont lie, cheat, and if you steal, well then, I am not the gal for ya. I'm looking to date (longterm or short) and hopefully find my forever friend eventually. I am trying to be a bit more guarded lately just because there are some lowsy folks out there (men and women!) so please note that in advance.

Here are some reasons you should message me: if you like to play strategy board games, you like to cook or eat good food, try new places, find a nice park for a picnic or walk, visit a museum, go dancing, go kayaking, like to hang out at a local bar, or are looking to meet new people and possibly make new friends, and otherwise.

"i belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweetheart." that sums up what im looking for.
