I am pensive, stubborn, and devoted.
My Self-Summary
I'm a quiet, relatively shy guy, with a tendency of regarding my
surroundings with a hint of hostility. I'm told I can be quite
sweet, charming, funny - and frustratingly difficult to figure out.
What I’m doing with my life
I graduated last August from Aalborg University with a master
degree in Culture, Communication & Globalisation - and remain
as of yet without a job. Meh.
Oh, and I've just moved back to Aalborg, having been absent for the
past 1½ year. Most peculiar going back like this, but I'm slowly
getting used to it.
In my spare time I sing quite a bit, and in the near future I will
be joining a choir that is due to start sometime this May. I have
also done a bit of amateur acting in the Aalborg University
Shakespeare Company. In previous years I have performed in Much Ado
About Nothing and A Midsummer Night's Dream. I think I should like
to do some acting again.
I’m really good at
Hm... Singing - or so I'm told. And writing - I can be quite
eloquent in writing, I've been told. I used to write quite a bit
once when I wasn't feeling very cheerful. The result was dark and
gloomy poetry which I have no desire to publish here. 'Nough
said.
Being absurd / weird is another specialty of mine. I love absurd
humour, so I sometimes misunderstand people on purpose, turning
what they've said into something very strange and utterly baffling,
and then watch their reaction. Also, I am brilliant at absorbing
seemingly useless bits of information - the exact height of Mt.
Everest, for instance, or that can opener was invented decades
after the tin can (1858 & 1810, respectively). Nice to know,
but not terribly useful.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am not as hostile and distanced as I seem once you get to know
me. Also, I have a charming smile and very sweet blue eyes - again,
not my words. I also seemingly hit on people without intending to,
or even realising it. Moreover, I don't drink coffee or tea (the
latter only when suffering from a sore throat). Shocking, I know,
but that's the truth.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
(A) The Foundation trilogy, Ben Hur, Hitchhikers Guide to the
Galaxy, Spartacus, The Divine Comedy (Commedia Divina), Terry
Pratchett's Discworld series (animated as well as the books)
(B) The Abyss, Tora Tora Tora!, Moulin Rouge, Phantom of The Opera,
K-Pax, Ice Age, A Home At The End Of The World, Lord of The Rings,
Dune, Titan A.E
C) Within Temptation, Nightwish, U2, The Cranberries, Jean-Michel
Jarre, Anastacia, Billy Joel, Garbage, Robbie Williams, Kylie
Minogue, Michael Learns To Rock, Peter Gabriel, Pet Shop Boys, Phil
Collins, Sting, Savage Garden
The six things I could never do without
Singing, music, my family, Internet
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, finding a boy/girlfriend, doing what's right
On a typical Friday night I am
doing... doing... eh.. Well, that depends, doesn't it? Besides,
what is a typical Friday night? I'm probably not clubbing
somewhere, although I might be in a pub or the like.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have no particular opinion on portobello and paper clips...
[EDIT] I have now been able to determine that portobello
denominates a sort of brown mushroom. Its name still fails to
elicit any kind of emotional response in my mind though.
You should message me if
... if you know a use for portobello mushrooms. I was thinking of a
new kind of ball game, but that didn't go down well with the local
sports club. Thus, an alternative use should be devised.
Short of that, you could also just message me if you feel like it.
