Seeing someone at the moment and not looking. : )

There's nothing like a makeover, so now my profile is getting one too. It's true, I can be a big goof. I love to laugh and love to make you laugh if I can. I like intellectual humor and witty repartee, but I also get downright silly sometimes. If I make a mistake, I will OWN it, and usually turn it into something very funny.

I'm a bit of a girly girl...I like romance and flowers and makeup and pretty dresses. But don't underestimate me - I'm a very empowered woman and will only be in a relationship with a sense of equality and shared respect. I'm independent, and need some me time, but I'd really like to share some special time with a special someone.

I know most men are visual, and since chemistry starts there, I've posted some recent pictures. Yes, these are portraits, but I'm not trying to hide anything. I included a full body shot - as you can see, I am a plus size woman, but I clean up REAL nice. : ) I'm getting healthier and more fit every day (and losing weight in the process) but if being overwieht is a dealbreaker, then pass me by. I'm comfortable with the fact that some people will find me attractive exactly as I am, and some will not. My every day look is a little less glam, but I'd love to go the extra mile to look really pretty just for you.

From my experience here on OKC, MY biggest dealbreaker seems to be politics. I am a little blue dot among a seeming ocean of red. You don't have to be a liberal for us to get along, but if you are a dittohead or a vocal fiscal libertarian, we're not gonna be a match.

Making some big changes. Leaving the rat race and starting my own business. Putting myself first. Becoming a better (and happier) person. Showering the people (and dogs!) I love with love.

People who spend time around me quickly learn that I am very earnest and sincere and also very affectionate.

I have always enjoyed reading! I enjoy mystery thrillers and courtroom dramas. Favorite authors include Harlan Coben and Stephen White. I like non-fiction too - lots of different topics like economics, politics,cooking, and writing, among many, many others. I always love to learn something new. (And my #1 favorite book is probably the thesaurus. I use one just about every day.)

I enjoy a lot of different types of movies. I won't watch horror films, and very rarely watch "war" movies, even the moving ones like Schindler's List. I really enjoy psychological thrillers and action movies if they're not too violent, but I guess my favorite would be comedies, with chick-flick comedies at the VERY top of the list.

The music I like is all over the map, but I prefer things I can sing to. I'm more likely to like pop-oriented things than purist rock or jazz. Oldies are great too!

Family and Friends - The people who know me well and love me anyway. They are also the people for whom I would do anything and to whom I am completely loyal. Would love to add a significant other to this group of people!!

Words; those wonderful, glorious, exciting things we use to communicate our ideas and thoughts and feelings. Words are fun and I love them!

My dog Jake who is a mystery mutt - maybe a labradane?? - and is spoiled rotten, but also as sweet as can be.

Sunshine - I admit it; I am a sunshine junkie. If it gets too hot, I just try to spend time at the pool. I'd definitely rather be in the water than on a lounge chair. I might have Seasonal Affective Disorder - long, dark winters and grey days sap my energy.

Iced Tea - I don't drink coffe, but I loved iced tea - no lemon, no sugar. I'm a purist.

Sparkly or shiny things. Apparently, I am part magpie. And no, I'm not angling for jewels. I like sparkles on the ocean, twinkling lights in trees, stars (and sparkly planets like Venus,) special occasion dresses with rhinestones or sequins, spangly earrings (costume jewelry is fine.) And well, I guess I wouldn't flat out refuse diamonds if they were offered to me. : )

business ideas, creative projects, ideas for a book, and most of all, my next adventure. I've got one of my dolphin encounter photos posted; I want to do an up close whale watching trip someday as well as some river rafting. I'd also love to parasail and or paraglide.

Of course, that's not all I think about, but thoughts of vacation (adventurous or not) sneak up on me quite often.

If it's private, I'm definitely not admitting it here. TMI should be committed accidentally, not on purpose, and I also prefer to commit that faux pas one-on-one, if at all. ;-)

If you are just chatting, etc. to occupy time, please do me the courtesy of making that clear. A simple statement like "Not interested in dating right now, but I noticed....." will do the trick.

You will rarely find me chatting or messaging back and forth for extended periods of time - it's just not my favorite way to communicate.

If you send a one sentence message and I'm not sure what you're trying to communicate, I probably won't write back. Overtly sexual comments or other rude messages will also be ignored.
