I am Spontaneous, Witty, and Intelligent.

My Self-Summary

I'm a pretty easy going guy with a good sense of humor. I consider myself intelligent, but I am humble and love to learn from everyone I meet. I prefer a laugh and smile to anger. I feel life is short and you may as well do your best to enjoy it now, but also work hard so you can continue to enjoy it tomorrow.

My hair is no longer blue lol, I did it on a whim for Burning Man, and I had some fun with it for awhile. In some of my pictures it is long and was in a pony tail, that's before I cut it off and dyed it lol. Now it is short and brown.

I have a career in IT / Web / E-Commerce which I take fairly seriously, but I also have an extremely flexible schedule. I can work from home, and do so about 2 days a week, and also sometimes work remotely as a chance to travel.

What I’m doing with my life

Trying to travel and learn as much about the world as opportunities allow. I was in Brazil this summer, and will be heading to Japan, Korea, and Taiwan this winter. (It will be great to spend Christmas and New Years away from American pop culture) Next summer I have tickets to the World Cup in South Africa! (I'm a big soccer fan)

I have perpetual wanderlust!

When I'm not dreaming about where to go / what to do next, I'm working on advancing my knowledge and career in technology.

Most of all, I'm just trying to have fun!

I’m really good at

Learning new things, as well as anything Computers/Science/Tech related. I also have vast knowledge on a lot of very niche subjects. And some not so niche... ;-)

I brew beer, as well as make ciders, fruit wines, and meads. I'm fairly involved with the craft beer scene here in Portland!

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm kinda tallish?

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Book: Fareed Zakaria's The Post-American World. It's a great look at the US, the history of world superpowers, and our position in the world going forward.

Music: I love going to live shows! I worked in a record store all through high school, and was a radio DJ in college, so I have a very wide range of taste. I love all forms of Electronica though, especially Trip Hop, Trance/Ambient, Industrial, etc...

Movies: I tend to lean towards Indy/International over big budget US, but my movie tastes are broad. Well known directors include Quentin Tarantino, Kevin Smith, and David Lynch.

I also like Anime lol, but I also have a Japanese culture fascination.

I watch a decent amount of soccer. Love the Portland Timbers, as well as English Premier League.

Food: Sushi, any Asian cuisine, anything Fresh, Local, or Artisan. Slow Food > Fast Food

The six things I could never do without

My Passport
My Mind
My Freedom
The Outdoors

Really it's hard to list 6 things I could never do without. While I'm not going to claim I don't have my share of material possessions, I feel I would be fine picking up any day, selling them all, and moving to another country. (If I had the logistics worked out, I suppose) ;-)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The World, and how much misunderstanding there is.

On a typical Friday night I am

Out with friends drinking quality craft beer, or in watching movies / playing video games. Sometimes just reading and/or planning for my next adventure.

Some weekends I'm just working on house projects. (The more you work on your house, the longer the list of things to do seems to get)

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm extremely open about my life. But it won't all fit here. Just ask! ;-)

You should message me if

You would like to meet someone adventurous, willing to take risks, funny, intelligent, who doesn't take things too seriously.

You love to travel, hike, or backpack. You enjoy high quality fresh foods, paired with amazing local beers in Portland, but also love trying foods you never heard of at a street stall in another country.

The idea of a last minute trip sounds great, even if it means no planning, no guide book, no itinerary, and only a backpack.

You like staying in hostels not just to save money, but to meet people.

There are more things you want to do, then you have time to do.

Anything in my profile sounds interesting and you'd like to chat!
