My self-summary
I grew up in Atlanta then went to college in southern California. It was then that I realized I was a California boy who just had the bad luck of being born in Georgia. I went home briefly after college before moving to San Francisco to work as a Software Developer for a startup here.
What I’m doing with my life
I love to program. What I really want is to build something that will change peoples lives for the better. I want someday to be part of a project that people will look back on and think how on earth they could ever have lived without it. When I'm not busy coding I'm always on the look out for an adventure.
I’m really good at
I was always really good at sports. In high school, I played soccer, tennis, and ran cross country. In college, I expanded out and played just about every intramural sport I could including dodge ball (a personal favorite of mine). Science and math were also things that came fairly easy to me and to this day I love to keep up date on the latest and greatest in their world.
The first things people usually notice about me
Is my height. Maybe I'm biased, but people tell me I'm tall a lot. Whenever I go home and see my parents all of the friends and family I run into tell me that they think I've grown since the last time I've seen them.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Huge fan of Douglas Adams. I've reread The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Dirk Gently books more times than I can count. I'm also a big fan of Robert Jordan and Robert Heinlein. As for tv, I'm a big fan of Dr. Who, Firefly, and How I met your mother. When it comes to music I enjoy just about everything but I definitely have a soft spot for Bluegrass at the moment
The six things I could never do without
Honestly just the outdoors. I love to escape the hustle and bustle of SF and get out in nature. If I can get a hike with an amazing view and a stream next to the path it's going to be a great day.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I want to go hiking next. I feel very lucky to be in such an amazing spot where there are so many great trails only a few hours away.
On a typical Friday night I am
Recovering from a long week at work. The recovery process can take me to a bar with friends or home to a good book or movie.
You should message me if
You love the outdoors and want to explore the vast trails of Northern California. Let's go on an adventure!
