Here's a little about me. I'm divorced, I have a great job, and I don't have kids but I want them. Not necessarily kids of my own, (though that would be great) just kids in my life. Do you really need to hear more? :) I'm mature and responsible, but I'm a big kid at heart. I'm just as comfortable having a serious conversation with adults as I am coloring or playing with toys with kids.
I'm a systems administrator at a local community college and have been there for a little over ten years. It's a great job and I love what I do. It offers me a tremendous amount of flexibility because I set my own schedule and can telecommute from home when I need to or simply don't feel like driving to work that day. I know, I'm spoiled! And although I'm a techie I'm not one of those guys who spends all his free time on the couch playing games. In fact I don't even own any game systems. In my spare time I like to be active. Anything that exercises either the body or the mind. I enjoy bike riding, hiking, walking, and working out or spinning. I've always wanted to try kayaking. I also enjoy trivia. I have been into the local Tacoma trivia scene for a few years now and usually participate in trivia about once a week with my friends. I have a pretty good memory and I'm a fountain of useless knowledge so we usually do pretty well. I also host a trivia game every other week at a local brew pub. My other interests include movies, theatre, camping, road trips, and winery and brewery tours. If you know what McMenamins is, we may be compatible. :)
Like I mentioned I enjoy working out. I have recently embraced a more active lifestyle and I workout 4 or 5 times a week. I'm not a body builder or a gym rat. I'm just trying to stay healthy and fit. It has been a long road over the last two years but I have lost a considerable amount of weight and I'm in the best shape of my life. I still have a bit of work to do but I'm very proud of what I have accomplished so far.
During the summer I'm very involved in Seafair and have been for 7 years now. It's a lot of work and takes a lot of my time in the months leading up to the hydro races, but it's very rewarding and gives my friends and me the ultimate VIP experience at Seattle's biggest party of the year. (I'm in charge of the logboom, if you're unsure what that is and are curious just ask) I have always enjoyed volunteering. I help out at the Children's Museum in Tacoma each year for their big charity event and I was a volunteer firefighter/EMT for 5 years in the early 90's in the big city of Orting, WA. :)
So if you're still reading you may be asking what I'm looking for. I'm looking for someone who shares my interests. Someone who is warm, caring, and sincere. She must have a great sense of humor, and by great of course I mean compatible with mine. Someone who enjoys the outdoors and being active, but also enjoys just staying in and watching a movie or playing a game. Someone who is also a bit of a romantic or at least can appreciate that I am and doesn't believe it's possible for a man to be too nice (yes, I have been told that). I love leaving little notes or just doing little things for my significant other just to let them know I'm thinking about them and that I care. Like I said I want kids in my life so single moms, especially soccer moms definitely need apply. :)
