I am disliking, of, and adjectives.
My Self-Summary
I'm very random and find it hard to describe myself in a few
sentences. I like
cats,
reading,
camping (I work at a camp every summer),
canoeing,
gourmet food,
theatre-going,
movies, watching TV
without commercials, and going for
walks. I'm interested in meeting new
people but can be quick to judge whether or not I will want to
spend more time with them after only one or two meetings...
What I’m doing with my life
Working for an after school child care program, having graduated
with a BA in Psychology and no further interest in pursuing it as a
career.
I’m really good at
Learning how to cook things. Making things from scratch but not
being too proud to eat some Mr Noodle every once in a while (if you
throw homemade peanut sauce on them, it's almost like you're
cooking!).
Reading. A lot. And very quickly. I run out of new things to read
frequently.
Not letting irritating kids irritate me. Or at least not showing
it. To them.
Learning stuff. In general.
Swimming, I guess. They let me pass my NLS and NLS Beach courses
with my abilities, so I think they're decent.
The first things people usually notice about me
Apparently I can be intimidating. I've been told. Otherwise I
really don't know. I'm tall?
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I like some sci-fi, really just
Bujold. I read a lot of random stuff like
Terry
Pratchett,
Neil Gaiman and
Kathy Reichs as well; mostly
fantasy novels but I'm open to suggestions for stuff to read. And
yes, I read Twilight and I liked it.
Movies: I don't like horror movies (unless they are funny. Like
Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Slither...) but anything else that
doesn't have Will Ferrell in it is usually okay. I'm kinda picky
but I could never possibly describe how.
Music: Yes, I listen to it. I don't really like jazz, rap, opera or
country but I'll tolerate it if necessary.
Food: I love food, probably the bad stuff more than the good stuff.
I'm on a huge Thai kick at the moment but I will always love
Italian. And anything with cheese.
The six things I could never do without
Camp in my life, cats, books, music, movies, and food :D
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Travel. I want to do a lot of it in my lifetime.
Like go scuba diving everywhere in the world. Or backpack around
Europe.
I'd also like to have a cottage. Anywhere is good, but in the
Laurentians, on a lake, would be perfection.
On a typical Friday night I am
At home watching TV shows on DVD. Sadly, this is the extent of my
fun at the moment. Please, feel free to offer suggestions.
You should message me if
...you are into bringing out my extroverted side. I do have one.
Sometimes.
...you see something you like on my profile.
...you like the basic Canadian outdoorsy things like snowshoeing,
canoeing, camping, and hiking.
...you are willing to take the lead in dating. I don't like dating,
and I would totally rather just fall into a relationship that
works. I lead an active fantasy life, I know. Just humour me, 'kay?
And do the asking.
