My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
hey there, I'm a laid-back, fun to be around, concert-going, bike-riding, food-eating, good-time-having kind of guy. I teach math to little kids and like me some art, science, books ... all that good stuff. I have a dog named Archimedes, and had a cat named Pazuzu. 1 million bonus points if you know who those two are.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an elementary school administrator, assistant-principal kind of stuff. I was born and raised in NYC, lived in D.C. and Baltimore for the last 13 years and am now back to help take care of my dad, and finally live in NYC as a grown-up. I like to go to concerts, ride bikes and get out of the city for some camping whenever I can.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Laughing at myself, listening, smiling awkwardly, cooking certain things, board/card games. Picking out delicious coffees and rooting for losing sport franchises with no sense of sadness or irony.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
ummm ... you'll have to tell me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

BOOKS - I like Kurt Vonnegut a lot - Currently I'm reading a lot of nerdy science non-fiction, mainly Carl Sagan's Cosmos as well as Karl Ove Knausgaard's My Struggle. I also dig me some Tom Robbins, older Paul Auster (once he started making money he got all soft,) Michael Chabon, and Murakami.
MOVIES - I like the Wes Anderson and Coen Brothers movies a lot, I cried during Step Brothers, and I love old movies I grew up with, goonies, gleaming the cube, and especially RAD!
MUSIC -I like a very eclectic mix of music, my first musical love was hip-hop but I really do enjoy it all from Indie rock, to bluegrass and will go see just about any live music any time. Some all stars would include - talking heads, a tribe called quest, the beach boys, beach house, lucero, beck, pink mountaintops, wye oak, wu tang, LCD soundsystem, the kinks, and the rolling stones (both of which are better than the beatles ... ooo controversial.)
TV - Arrested Development, Twin Peaks, Alf those were some good shows. I do some tv watching on the internet mostly.
PODCASTS/RADIO Shows - this american life, radiolab, stones throw, how stuff works, how did this get made.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
comfy clothes
jokes (practical or otherwise)
good friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
If there was a soundtrack to this movie the song playing now would be ...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Seeing some live music, riding a bike, making a meal that is too large and finishing it anyway.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've watched Battle Star Galactica ... and it's really good!
