My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a working artist who loves language, art, food, poetry, and people. I've been called vivacious, elegant, serious, silly, cerebral, fancy, down-to-earth, and some other worse stuff (not worth mentioning, though I may have deserved it!). I'm a funny mix of left brain/right brain (BA, English: MFA art). I love learning, and I love helping people create something better for themselves or the world.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Creating "added value" whenever I can.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Inspiring people.
Throwing a dinner party that sets the stage for conversation and communion.
Supporting people in their goals and through their challenges.
The first things people usually notice about me

Vitality. And that I am disposed to like them.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann. The Alexandria Quartet by Lawrence Durrell, Finite and Infinite Games by James Carse. Shakespeare. Poetry (Yeats, Dante, Milton, Baudelaire). Language comes naturally--I've studied French, Italian, Greek, Latin. I've edited books as a freelance book editor over the years (used to be my artist's day job).
Movies: Like everyone else, I love the movies, high and low. Coming to mind immediately: La Belle et la Bête (Cocteau), Wings of Desire, The Passion of Joan of Arc, The Decalogue, The Conformist, The Lives of Others, anything by Bresson, Antonioni, Almodovar, Jacques Audiard. And I love a good chase movie when I'm on my elliptical.
Music: Bach, Purcell, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Wagner, Mahler, Pärt. And lots else: Tracy Chapman, Steely Dan, Rufus Wainwright, Madeleine Peyroux, much more. I love the singing voice, and I love opera.
Foods: Good food is important to me, and I enjoy an elegant meal -- though not always required!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) brushes and paints
2) people
3) kindness, compassion, honesty, striving for integrity
4) exercise
5) beauty, color, splendor
6) languages, verbal and visual
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I am working at spending less time thinking and more time listening, watching, absorbing, appreciating.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Of course not.
