I am vital, vibrant, and vixenlike.

My Self-Summary

Passionate about intellectual stimulation, human connection, pleasure in all its forms. Have been described as an epicurean, and that feels pretty accurate. Reserved; may even seem standoffish, but trust me, it's just shyness/introversion.

What I’m doing with my life

Working in an arts-related field, in which I've carved out a career thanks to years of strategic sacrifice. Love it, but work's never been the be-all and end-all to me -- in fact, I lean towards the slacker end of the spectrum. Like to spend my precious (and never enough) spare time in a variety of ways, including ... reading -- mostly nonfiction, but also literature, decor/architecture magazines and even trashy stuff like Cosmo (a secret vice). Baking -- cookies, cakes, squares, etc. Going for long walks -- in the city and the forest/mountains, around the seawall, you name it. Exercising -- cardio machines, free weights, Pilates, swimming. Volunteering -- in the arts and nonprofit sectors. Was a Big Sister for several years. Watching movies; listening to music; blah-blah ...

I’m really good at

Things it would be imprudent to mention here. And I am nothing if not prudent!

The first things people usually notice about me

My hair; my reserved bearing; my penchant for colour-coordinated outfits (dorky, yes, but there ya go).

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

_The Post-Birthday World_ by Lionel Shriver, _I Shot Andy Warhol_, Pink Mountaintops, and Martini's pizza. Just a representative sampling.

The six things I could never do without

Tea; chocolate; trees; the outdoors; long walks; sex in the context of a committed relationship (well, I'm doing w/o the latter, but only against my volition ;-) ).

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Lusty pursuits, food, current events, my nephew and niece, existentialism, language.

On a typical Friday night I am

At home, cozy, indulging in various comestibles and intoxicants, reading or writing or watching a movie.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

My first concert was Supertramp at a newly opened BC Place. Perhaps the most private thing, but definitely the most embarrassing.

You should message me if

You prize the life of the mind, are perhaps on the nerdy/geeky side (nice, but not essential), are single, kind, fit, and articulate.
