My self-summary
I'm a person of extremes, despite my best efforts. I feel intensely, think far too much, and am known to fly off the handle when provoked (in the best possible way). I find it badass and intimidating, but... it's apparently adorable (ugh). Hopefully that's tempered by my nerdiness; I throw myself into new things and have always absorbed information like a sponge. To extend the metaphor, I'm happy to soap you down with knowledge if you give any indication you're willing, so be careful what you say.

Quite Interesting: My laptop's hard drive is named Sancho Panza. I have my nipples pierced. I used to take my tea (Earl Gray. Hot.) and coffee black, but sometime in the past year that changed (how?? no idea). I can be aroused by music. I do both improv and stand-up comedy. "Quite" actually means "moderately" in British English. I relish speaking German, especially when drunk. I was in the Air Force... for two weeks (I joined by accident). I didn't realize I was allergic to our dogs until age 17.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm in my third year at UGA right now, majoring in German and English and wishing I had something to do with Engineering so that I could join the MythBusters team.
I’m really good at
Making soul-crushingly bad puns. I'm also a pretty good baker, and I can remember all number of inapplicable facts with little to no effort on my part.
The first things people usually notice about me
The hair. Very curly, pretty short, and... very curly.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Terry Pratchett has to be mentioned first--favorite author. Good Omens of course is ineffable, and his Discworld books are amazing. It follows that I'm a big Douglas Adams fan.

Movies--well. The LotR trilogy has a special place in my heart, and of course the [even-numbered] Star Trek films (especially The Voyage Home, dear lord; Spock mind-melding with a whale? priceless). Oddly, the Star Wars films aren't as dear to me. Not to say I don't like Star Wars (SWTOR, anyone?)--I just don't consider the movies among my favorites.

Princess Bride.
The six things I could never do without
Netflix
Steam
Chapstick
Songza
Soda
Fuzzy blankets

Serious question: Why has OkCupid settled on *six* things, specifically? Three I could understand; three tends to be the magic number. Three strikes, three wishes, three little pigs... The only things I can think of that are a group of six are quarks, and even they come in threes.

These are the things that keep me up at night.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Space, holy shit. Get me outside on a clear night and I'll think myself into a space-induced stupor. And evolution? Fuck. The fact that you and me exist is just... almost literally unbelievable. So many things could have gone wrong just in our conception, let alone that of our parents or our parents' parents or Tiktaalik's. If it doesn't blow your mind, I don't understand how you think.

When I'm not wrapped up in the splendor of our universe, I spend a lot of time doodling stories in my head and finding patterns in apparent disorder. The former is a hobby, the latter a problem.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 18–40
  • Near me
  • For new friends, short-term dating
You should message me if
You're interested in hanging out and watching [incredibad] sci-fi. Doing other stuff is also acceptable, I suppose, though I warn you--the last date I went on ended up with us watching Amok Time. Watch out, ladies.

You like reading, writing, roleplaying, storytelling, or anything verbally creative. Stand-up and lying included!

You're passionate about--anything, really, and enjoy the exchange of ideas. Even if I know nothing about a subject, I'm happy to listen to your monologue.
