I am always learning, filmmaking, and living life.

My Self-Summary

I moved to LA from NY in 2007. I recently tried surfing- half the Pacific is still draining out of my nose but I can't wait to try again.

My main passion is film. I work at an independent documentary company operating camera and overseeing equipment checkout for crews going into the field. Besides my love of film, I'm also a bit of a foodie, into science, and I like playing racquetball. I think a day with a trip to the farmer's market, a hike, or a visit to a museum is a day well spent. So is a day lounging at home watching some DVDs as long as it's not too many days in a row.

What I’m doing with my life

I work at a documentary company that creates a lot of progressive content. Our current campaigns revolve around rethinking our strategy in Afghanistan, healthcare reform, and regulation of greedy corporate culture.

Outside of work I try and get out to see the various parts of LA and the surrounding areas. Recently I've been camping at Joshua tree, visited the Huntington Gardens, and discovered a Hindu temple up in Calabassas.

I’m really good at

Cooking- salads and burekas are my specialty (Burekas are Turkish puff pastries stuffed with potoates, cheese, herbs and pine nuts.) I'd like to think I really good at some other stuff too, I just can't think of anything right now...

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Too many to list, but here are some:

Movies: Yojimbo, Taxi Driver, Rosemary's Baby, Shining, 2001, Network, Godfather, Office Space, Gattaca, Big Lebowski

TV: The Wire, In Treatment, Flight of the Conchords, Futurama, cooking shows, science shows

Music: Led Zeppelin, Grateful Dead, War, Miles Davis, Funkadelic, Doors, Stan Getz, Beethoven, Gomez, Cibelle

Books: Hitchcock, Understanding Comics, Middlesex, Childhood's End, The Giving Tree, Candide, Meditations

The six things I could never do without

-Company of family and friends
-All the arts (movies, music, photography, painting, etc...)
-Creative challenges
-Good food
-Pen and paper
-new places/new experiences/new ideas

On a typical Friday night I am

Meeting up with friends for a movie or drinks. I gotta say, pound for pound, I think dinner parties are the best activity for any night of the week. It's all about hosting friends for food, drinks and laughs.
