I'm an optimizer. I'll try to slow down before a red light so that I can get to the line just as it turns green, while maintaining as much speed as I can.

I grew up in the Asian burbs of LA, finished growing up west of LA, went to college east of LA, and now I'm doing grad school south of LA. I'm unreasonably terrified that after graduation, the only thing waiting for me will be a job in Palmcaster.

Career-wise, I'm working on my math PhD. This involves coloring things and estimating probabilities. As a result(?) I've gotten very good at guessing people's weights, and doing Fermi calculations for fun. I also teach; in fact, my desire to teach was what led me to academia in the first place.

I'm taking a break from academia this summer to explore the dark side of the Force. I've never done an industry internship before so this should be very exciting! If I like it I may end up staying in NYC...

I started Strong Lifts a while back and have been steadily getting stronger. I'm not making linear gains anymore so I've moved on to 5/3/1.

Shakespeare is a master wordsmith and I want him to impregnate me with his wit. I'm also reading that *other* book by Bertrand Russel (the one not called Principia Mathematica) and it's a surprisingly engaging, witty, read.

I'm currently in a casual/nonexclusive relationship with Magic: the Gathering after I ended my summer fling with League of Legends. DotA is my high school girlfriend that I'll get coffee (and nookie) with once or twice a year. Quake is the hot girl from a completely different social circle that my roommate introduced me to one night in college. We had a very intense relationship for a while, but in the end she wanted me to do things with my fingers that I just couldn't keep up with.

Diablo 2 was the girl that I thought I was going to marry; we split up a few times here and there but always ended up back together somehow. Her younger sister D3 tried to seduce me but she was into like, Nickelback and shit so I was like "no way". But then this other girl comes around, Path of Exile? And she reminds me of all the good things I used to like about D2. So yeah. We're dating now. Plus she's fucking hot to boot.
