My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Summarizing myself is a hard thing to do. I'm intensely passionate and curious about the world. I love learning new things and meeting people (I used to be quite shy about it). Big into spirituality, philosophy, mythology, conspiracy theories and things that go bump in the night. Or things that bump me. Ahem! Anyways...

I've got a lot of old fashioned values. Don't have any tattoos or piercings. No desire to get any either (everyone and their grandmother has one now). I believe in treating people well and I enjoy making them laugh or inspiring them to meet their goals. Life is pretty short and I'd like to always try and make the most of it no matter what gets thrown my way.

There's a bit of complexity to my character that few people are able to catch onto. But once you get a handle and discover what makes me tick; I can be a lot of fun to be with. Describing my best attributes is hard to do on here. I'd rather have them be a fun surprise waiting to be discovered.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Not much. That's where you come in. ;)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Knowing the best time to squeeze your hand during a scary movie.

And a few other things ;) Including skillful use of the winky smiley face.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Not my shoes, that's for sure.

I've been told different things. My intelligence, sense of humor, looks and ability to put others at ease. But I think my nose is what gets noticed first. It's uhm, patriarchal.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
A Brief Theory of Everything, Valis, Perfume, Hollow Man, The Prophet. I'm into non-fiction as well as biographies. Kind of a nerd with reading actually. I love books.

Science-fiction, monster movies and old b-flicks with a lot of pew-pew laser sounds, but I enjoy watching anything original or with a lot of detail. Transformers and similar style Hollywood blockbusters are pretty meh. There's no magic in waving a shaky cam around and making it into a half cartoon with too much CGI. I tend to skip those.

Some favourites of mine include,

Apocalypto, Donnie Darko, Carlito’s Way, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin (so good), Iron Monkey, Braveheart, Inception, Matrix, El Topo (mind blowingly weird), True Romance, Tango & Cash, Conan the Barbarian, The Tramp (silent film), Gattaca. Kubrick, Jodorowsky, Lynch.

Cooking shows, cheesy infomercials, documentaries, Shark Tank, Game of Thrones, True Detective and classics like Three’s Company and Married with Children. Six Feet Under, Twin Peaks, The Wire, Twilight Zone... I don't do a whole lot of tv.

Anything from 50s bubblegum pop, R&B and crooners, to metal, jazz, rock, goth, industrial, 80s, early 90s alternative & grunge, some country, some classical. A little opera. Arvo Part, Matthew Good, Boxer Rebellion, Bob Marley, Tool and Dead Can Dance gets frequent plays. I listen to a lot of random stuff.

Bruschetta, garlic bread, pizza, Korean, Brazillan and Texas barbecue. I'm a big fan of dim sum too.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Intelligent conversation
Anatomical correctness
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My book. I'm writing a couple different ones, but ever since a friend of mine convinced me to try Nanowrimo a few years ago, I've been hooked on the idea of getting published someday. I also have a pretentious black and white photo of myself ready to go on the inside cover once that happens :)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I enjoy quiet evenings and doing whatever comes to mind. Whether it's writing, star gazing, listening to music or playing mad scientist in the kitchen, I rarely find myself bored and believe fun can be had doing just about anything. I don't really have any typical routine for a Friday night and I'm not the bar-going type. I'd rather spend an evening with my arm around someone special.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

You're interested and interesting! I prefer getting to know someone in person rather than online. Most people are better than their profiles make them out to be and mine is no exception either.
