My self-summary
I'm intensely passionate and curious about the world. I love learning different things and meeting new people. Love the ocean, cottages, ancient history, philosophy, psychology, metaphysical stuff, cooking, old muscle cars, guitar, going for walks (fully housebroken btw), etc.

I believe in treating people well, inspiring them to reach their potential and have them laughing along the way while doing it.

I'm easy to get along with, and I get into random conversations with strangers all the time. Mainly with old people, but still, old people are pretty darn awesome, right?!

Own my own home, car, and Tassimo machine. All I need now is someone cool to share it with :)
What I’m doing with my life
Right now, I'm doing research into sequencing and labelling the genetic markers of Alzheimer patients to help improve their quality of living. But that's only when I'm not busy working on my six-pack abs, wrangling steers, restoring my 66' Chevy Nova or volunteering time at the Stollery Children's hospital.

(crosses fingers behind back)

In all seriousness, I'm busy working towards my dreams just like you probably are.
I’m really good at
Shrewd negotiation of flea market and garage sale items. I have it down to a sweet science. And I have a great imagination, which can sometimes be both a blessing and a curse. You know that advice about picturing people naked when giving a speech? Yeah, that's me, like all the time.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told different things. My smile seems to come up often, as does the cucumber I carry in my pocket. (allegedly)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
This is my favourite section to respond to by far.

A Brief Theory of Everything by Ken Wilber, Valis by Philip K Dick, Perfume by Patrick Suskind, Hollow Man by Dan Simmons , The Prophet -- Kali Gibran. I read a lot of different things across most genres. Including junk mail and the back of cereal boxes.

Kung fu, horror, low budget monster movies and anything with a lot of pew-pew laser sounds and/or time travel. I enjoy watching anything original or with a lot of detail to appreciate. I'm not generally impressed by big blockbusters like Transformers, or films where it looks like the camera is being held by someone having a grand mal seizure. A good movie to me is like unearthing buried treasure.

Some favourites of mine include,

Donnie Darko, Carlito’s Way, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, Iron Monkey, Braveheart, Inception, The Matrix, El Topo, True Romance, Tango & Cash, Conan the Barbarian, Star Wars, Gattaca, Interstellar. Visionary directors like Kubrick, Jodorowsky, Lynch, etc.

Cooking shows, cheesy infomercials, documentaries, Dragon's Den/Shark Tank, Game of Thrones... Six Feet Under, Twin Peaks, The Wire, Twilight Zone, Ted Talks... Random other things too.

Anything from 50s bubblegum pop, R&B and crooners, to metal, jazz, rock, goth, industrial, 80s, early 90s alternative & grunge, some classical. A little opera. Arvo Part, Matthew Good, Boxer Rebellion, Bob Marley, Tool and Dead Can Dance. I listen to a lot of random stuff. I'd probably tap my toe along to a drunken hobo playing a kazoo if he's making an interesting sound with it.

Bruschetta, garlic bread, pizza, Korean/Brazillan barbecue. Dim sum, Chinese... Italian is definitely my favourite category.

I love discovering those hole in the wall places that nobody has ever heard of, but where the food is spectacularly good and there aren't too many flies buzzing about.
The six things I could never do without
Ritz crackers
A warm, comfortable bed
Anatomical correctness
I spend a lot of time thinking about
This novel I'm working on. I'm around eight chapters deep so far, and it's a lot of fun.
On a typical Friday night I am
Laying naked in the dark, face down on the floor while Unchained Melody plays on a loop.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
(sighs) it involves plastic tubing and two medium sized grapefruits. But I can't say much more than that.
