My self-summary
Summarizing myself is a hard thing to do. I'm a bit of an anachronism, I'm intensely passionate and curious about the world and I believe everyone has a story worth listening to and learning from.

My main theme in life has always been about provocation. I like helping people see things differently, by way of silly observations and making them laugh, or by keeping an element of surprise going in my interactions. Sometimes it means my having to challenge convention, and my biggest thrill comes from making someone smile or to inspire them to break out of their molds.

I was the class clown in school and the guy that people would confide their secrets towards. My biggest flaw is that it's hard to take me seriously when I want to be. Which is why I enjoy writing, so I can better present that side of myself with more depth than I'm able to in person.

I'm also shy, but I do hide it well enough that people aren't able to clue in on it right away.
What I’m doing with my life
Not much. That's where you come in. ;)
I’m really good at
Knowing the best time to squeeze your hand during a scary movie.

Also, making homemade pizzas that are almost too pretty to eat.
The first things people usually notice about me
Not my shoes, that's for sure.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
BOOKS
A Brief Theory of Everything (Wilber), Valis (Dick), Perfume (Suskind), Hollow Man (Simmons), The Prophet (Gibran) and I'm also into biographies such as Elvis, Rasputin, Gandhi, MLK, Marilyn Manson and Jenna Jameson.

MOVIES
Science-fiction, monster movies and cheesy b-flicks with a lot of pew-pew laser sounds, but I genuinely enjoy watching anything that's well crafted and/or original.

Some favourites include,

Apocalypto, Donnie Darko, Carlito’s Way, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, Iron Monkey, Braveheart, Inception, Matrix, El Topo, True Romance, Tango & Cash, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, silent films.. and I have a huge soft spot for time travel movies ranging from the Butterfly Effect, Back to the Future to Somewhere in Time, Looper and Primer.

I’m also an appreciative fan of Pixar films and classic hand-drawn animated features like Iron Giant, Pinocchio, and Spirited Away. But don’t tell anyone I said this.

SHOWS
Cooking shows, bad infomercials, documentaries, Shark Tank, Game of Thrones, True Detective and classics like Three’s Company and Married with Children. Other favorites include Six Feet Under, Twin Peaks, The Wire and Twilight Zone.

MUSIC
Anything from 50s bubblegum pop, R&B and crooners, to metal, jazz, rock, 80s, early 90s alternative & grunge, some country, some classical. A little opera. Arvo Part, Matthew Good, Boxer Rebellion, Bob Marley, Tool and Dead Can Dance gets frequently played.

FOOD
Bruschetta, garlic bread, dim sum, pizza, Edo, Korean, Brazillan and Texas barbecue. Joey's Seafood and uh, (looks around nervously), Swiss Chalet and all you can eat buffets.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
My book. I'm writing a couple different ones, but ever since a friend of mine convinced me to try Nanowrimo a few years back, I've been hooked on the idea of getting published someday and have a cheesy black and white pretentious photo of myself ready to go on the inside dust cover jacket :)
On a typical Friday night I am
I enjoy quiet evenings of being lost in my imagination and doing whatever comes to mind. Whether it's writing, listening to vinyl or playing mad scientist in the kitchen, I rarely find myself bored and believe fun is what you make of it, no matter what or where it is.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I keep a skeleton in my closet. It was thirty bucks from Costco and I couldn't resist living a cliché literally. Sad, huh?
