My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Vibrant, slim, intellectually alive, fun-loving, sensual woman, unaccustomed to solo existence and slowly reverting to wild state, is in need of emotional rescue by a cultured, educated, humorous man with very liberal politics. I have eclectic cultural tastes, love films, especially documentaries, comedy, journalism, music, news, art, architecture, lectures, photography, politics, history, the beach, the country, the city. Stylish, quick witted, faintly jaded, poised in social settings. Down to earth, not pretentious. An empathetic, kind, nurturing, responsible and honest person with an unfettered spirit of adventure who speaks her mind (but gently) and sees the humor in most things.

I like to cook tasty, healthy dinners with friends, drink some good red wine and talk and laugh into the night, go see some independent or foreign films, take in some interesting art, find some live music, eat in a little ethnic place, join friends for dinner, go exploring in the city or far away, buy some fresh veggies at the farmer's market or just hang around the house and drink espresso and read the NY Times or the New Yorker or Nat Geo or articles about politics or maybe play around on the internet and find some intriguing bits of information to share.

I absolutely love traveling and have been to Europe, Asia, South America and the Carribean and, once there, i can't get enough of exploring, seeking, learning and understanding the culture.

I love political satire and like the Daily Show, John Oliver and Bill Maher. Watch PBS, HBO, MSNBC, Comedy Central. Like American Masters, Boardwalk Empire, Downton Abby. Listen to BBC, NPR. Like This American Life, Radio Lab. Am a bit of a news junkie and have a keen interest in local, national and international politics and culture.

I like to listen to intense, upbeat music that makes my heart soar: soul, blues, rock.

Things I am not into: fast food, intolerance, a lot of middle america, conservatism, fundamentalism, dogmatism, the bible, chain restaurants, aluminum siding.

I am looking for a hip, socially aware, emotionally mature guy who has his love of life and love of women intact and who perhaps has fond memories of his rebellious youth.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Now that my kids are on their own, spending more time with friends, enjoying movies, books, Working on a pet civic project involving the creation of a public park. Thinking about getting involved in political campaigns. Working on taking my career in a new direction, getting my beach house rebuilt after Sandy,
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making others comfortable in my presence, sticking up for what is right, nurturing, conversation, understanding the feelings and needs of others, table manners, appreciating art, appreciating a good joke, working on a team, forging ahead on my own, cooking tasty, healthy food, choosing well-made clothing that looks chic without spending a fortune. Making fun family times, planning trips, conducting business, never placing a wet glass on wood furniture, negotiating the administrative junk of life. Providing leadership in tough situations.

Very bad at auto mechanics. In fact, totally lost.

How nice it will be when I fall into step with a good man. The ruining of the world ecology and what it will mean for future generations. How inane obstructionist right wing Republicans are. Things to tell my daughter about love and life. How lucky I am to have fun times with great friends. Whether I really need a land line any more. How I should organize things better in my office.
