My self-summary
I'm from San Francisco and Boulder (yes, I claim both) and I've been in DC for five years now and even though I still can't stand the weather, it's a great city and I love running here. If you keep reading you'll figure out it's something I do. A lot. I'm getting my Master's while working so life can feel a little crazy sometimes, but I enjoy what I'm doing and thanks to my overly organized nature, keep on top of every/most things.

I'm a very active person so I need someone that can keep up! I run, practice yoga, go to boot camp, pilates, spin class... Trying new workouts and fitness studios falls under my definition of fun. I played 5 sports in high school and was an athlete in college (Wahoo-wa!) so being active is important.

There's more to me than just running (promise). People seem surprised when they see copies of The Economist sitting around my apartment with books about the Middle East (i.e. my college major). I'm really a giant nerd underneath the bright pink running shoes and spandex. Then again, most people never see me in work clothes, only running tights and sports bras, since a lot of my social activities do revolve around fitness. I did work in the fitness industry for awhile so it all makes sense. Hopefully.

My definition to a good weekend is getting in a great morning workout, be it running, yoga, spin class (sometimes all three), making brunch, and doing something around the city with friends. If it's nice, sometimes I'll sit and read in Logan or Dupont Circle. This all makes me sound really serious but I feel like I could EASILY have a reality show with all the... moments... I tend to have.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working for a federal advisory committee while attending graduate school. I'm competitive in all aspects of life, not just on a race course, meaning I work as hard professionally as I do physically. Non-professional activities include training and setting new goals for races, reading at least two or three books a month (outside of school/work) and taking advantage of everything DC has to offer!
I’m really good at
pushing myself, organizing, planning things, running, anything athletic, laughing, not taking things too seriously, honesty, random adventures, living life in the moment, smiling.
The first things people usually notice about me
is my athleticism. Being an athlete has always been a defining trait, but my outgoing personality and collection of neon colored running clothes are a close second and third. The bright colors just make it fun!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Daily Show, Colbert, The Newsroom, Big Bang Theory. But I don't watch a lot of TV... I'd rather be doing something. However if Aaron Sorkin is involved, it's on my list of favorite movies and TV shows.

Music: If I can run or workout to it, great. I do have a lot of remixes from random DJ's with European sounding names.

I have a weakness for sweet potato french fries. Learning how to make them at home didn't help. I make a kale and fruit smoothie daily, and cook when I have the time (which isn't that often). But I would like to do it more frequently, especially if I had someone else to help out (get the hint?).
The six things I could never do without
-Friends
-Running shoes
-iPod
-Wine
-Hair ties (I have really long hair)
-Books
I spend a lot of time thinking about
tomorrow's workout, the next book I should read, and life without grad school.
On a typical Friday night I am
getting dinner and hanging out with friends but probably a little tired from early workouts and runs so generally doing something more low key.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can get vertigo on certain metro escalators. Harry Potter movies are the most violent movies I've seen. I have a thing for guys with scruff and slightly shaggy ish hair. So mostly just random quirks about me.

Also I will "admit" (it seems best to go under this section) that I'm a traditional girl when it comes to dating. I still believe in chivalry, calling a girl to ask her out, giving flowers, opening doors for women, etc. I.e., I'm looking for a gentleman. Remaining optimistic about this one!
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 26–35
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
you want to go for a run together! Or play frisbee, kick a ball, go to a museum, paddle boating... Something not "just drinks."

But also if you think my profile is interesting and you are an outgoing, sincere, active fun-loving kind of guy.

(Conversely, DON'T message me if you're one of those guys that just says "Hey" or "Nice smile." Or uses the wrong version of there/their/they're. Do other girls really respond to those? Just curious.)
