My self-summary
I believe in faith,
hope,
and the power of homemade lemon pudding.

Optimism is pretty important to me.

I don't mind getting lost while I'm traveling, as long as the person I'm with doesn't mind being lost either. I love to explore new places or new parts of old places.

I'm pretty good at serious, intense conversations but I try not to take myself too seriously, if that makes sense.

I love the smell of rain, coffee houses, and used bookstores. I'm also a Christian and my faith is pretty important to me.

I'm not the perfect girl you've always been looking for.
I'm the imperfect one you didn't know you needed.
What I’m doing with my life
Is this where I put down what I do for a living?

I'm one of those ubiquitous baristas you see running about the streets in Seattle.

But in my spare time I write creative nonfiction. I also do film photography from time to time. I love the physicality of film as a medium. To be more concise, I tell stories.

Also, apparently, sometimes I quilt. And I like to cook. And I'm often reading.

Ultimately, I would like to go back to grad school and teach literature at a university level someday.
I’m really good at
frolicking in Seattle. finding new, interesting places. getting lost. getting excited about nothing. improvising desserts. reading the stranger. reading literature. quoting poets. making coffee. drinking said coffee. making more coffee. refurbishing old furniture. making sarcastic commentary. speaking my mind. pretending not to notice something. noticing everything. loving my friends. tricking myself into living without sugar.
The first things people usually notice about me
"You're that girl who makes the really witty comments on facebook" is the what I've most recently been told.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
BOOKS and AUTHORS: Anna Karenina, Brave New World, mostly anything by David Sedaris, Russian Literature in general, British literature in general, Anne Lamot, Annie Dillard, Chang Rae-Lee, The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, Shakespeare, Charles Dickens.

To name a few, but this list could go...

POETS: Two of my favorite poets are Li Young Lee and Matthew Dickman.

I read creative nonfiction, mostly. So, a lot of memoir.

The last show I saw was Kishi Bashi at the Crocodile. As far as music goes, my taste is pretty eclectic.

As far as movies go, I'm somewhat picky and I don't watch many movies. I do, however, love Howl's Moving Castle and Stranger Than Fiction.

I love theatre. Anything by Stephen Sondheim

FOOD: I try not to be picky, I do, however, avoid sugar and unhealthy food in general.
The six things I could never do without
blank paper
dark coffee
warm hands
God's grace
infectious laughter
room to roam
I spend a lot of time thinking about
the art of memory
stories
how to make healthy food
the people I love
irony
the recession
finding peace

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm on okcupid. You can see that, can't you? That's pretty much the most private thing I'm willing to admit on here.

You should message me if
You are a reader. You like to travel. You believe in Jesus.

I'm really into the amalgamation of cultures. Obviously, I already have the Caucasian thing down, so if you could add some more diversity into the mix, that would be pleasant.
