My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm 28 and a lawyer, which basically means I'm very busy but my life is awesome. That about sums it up. I take my work very seriously, but I take myself much less seriously. It makes for a fun dichotomy between work and play.

To actually describe myself, I'm the kind of person that fits in relatively well with just about any crowd. As an example, my three best friends are a 28-year old lawyer born and raised in Orange County, a fiery redhead musician from the South side of Chicago, and an Austrian political science major from a little village in the middle of the Alps. As a result of playing well with others, I'm very good at meeting new people and enjoying myself in pretty much any situation. I like forcing myself to try new things, and trying new things on a whim has by and large resulted in every awesome thing that has ever happened to me, so I think I'll keep at it :-)

I may also be the only person you'll ever talk to who truly, unequivocally enjoys awkward silences. Seriously, I love them.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work as a attorney at a law practice with offices all over Orange County and the LA basin, mostly criminal defense with some family law and bankruptcy thrown into the mix for good measure. I also put in some time with a non-profit called Pangea Educational Development that my cousin started a few years back.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
playing the trumpet, technical writing, and anything that generally involves home or building repair, oddly enough. I'm also incredibly sarcastic - at times so wry it's to a fault. I'd like to think that I'm quite clever and witty as well, but that is of course a personal, quite biased, opinion - you should make that call for yourself.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
is that I am very direct and straight forward with people. I say what is on my mind. This is not to say that I am rude, far from it - however the pure candor with which I speak at times catches people off guard.

Also my eyes, evidently :-)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Where to begin . . . there isn't enough room to list all of my favorite books, though I am particularly fond of any of the true classics (Homer, for example), anything written by Alexander Dumas, or anything relating to greek or roman history.

Among my favorite movies are Top Gun, The Count of Monte Cristo, A Few Good Men, Amadeus, and virtually every movie ever directed by Stephen Spielberg or James Cameron (and yes, that includes Titanic).

As far as television shows are concerned, my list peaks with Rome, Game of Thrones, Band of Brothers (the miniseries), House, How I Met Your Mother, Entourage and Once Upon a Time, though I am a fan of many others - I just enjoy a good story.

I am also an enormous fan of live theatre, my favorite musical being Les Miserables (not that monstrosity they put on the big screen, sorry Russell Crowe), with Wicked, Little Shop of Horrors, Newsies and Phantom of the Opera also maintaining a warm place in my heart.

My favorite foods are Chicago-style hot dogs from Portillos and deep dish pizza from Giordanos (I'm a Chicago native through and through). Yes I know they're awful for me, no I don't care. That being said, I really will eat just about anything, at least once anyway. I'm also a big fan of sushi, though that is a more recent development.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A pen (and paper);
My parents, who truly are the most fantastic people;
My education;
My friends;
Manchester United; and
My sense of humor.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Everything, honestly. My mind has a tendency not to be able to shut off, and if it does it's only for brief periods of time. That being said, I spend the majority of my time thinking about work (either clients or the next step in someone's case); my friends, who are very dear to me; and where I'm headed, in both the professional and personal senses.

Also, key lime pie. I love key lime pie.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
out with my friends having a great time, dialing down the week with a good movie or taking a trip down to San Diego. Unless of course I have trial the next week, in which case preparing for battle like the vikings of old.
