Zombie Apocalypse?

Sep 30, 2009

I woke up from a strange dream today.

I was in a residential area with two other people. It seemed like a normal day. When the sun began to set, people started to hide in their houses. I saw a "door" on the ceiling and my friends and I climbed to what seemed like an attic (but there were windows where you can see what's going on outside for some reason). There were other people there already -- a couple, a mom with an infant, and a few others. They were relieved to see us come up because we had guns. I had a handgun. "Fire power", they said. Evening came and everybody fell quiet... except for the baby. The mom was trying desperately to pacify her. It's hard to hide with a baby, I thought to myself. Apparently we were hiding from zombies. :|

For some reason, the scene changed. You know how dreams are. I was now riding a huge truck with a group of other survivors going down a road in a residential area. We open fired at a house at long range but ceased when we realized there were survivors inside. The truck stopped and they approached us. Another group of survivors walked toward us. They had bad ass guns, shotguns, and rifles. A few of them even had gunblades similar to that of Noctis, from Final Fantasy Versus 13 (I know, I know, I'm an FF Geek). We decided to join forces and try to eliminate the zombies in the area. Since weapons were limited, they were given to the more "able", i.e. younger, people in the group, who then rode the truck to go back to the residential area. The others who were left behind stayed together. But this other guy lighted up a match and burned the area beside him. I could only assume that they burned themselves. :(

So I was now in the truck, which was slowly driving down a street and the houses were at short range. It was quiet as if the area was deserted. We were all anticipating attack. I guess these zombies were not your garden variety idiot zombies who just walk around aimlessly until they smell human scent. These are the scary zombies; the kind who are intelligent, who hide and then you realize you fell into an ambush. :| So imagine my fear when I was holding on to my handgun and then a human figure stepped out of one of the windows and started to lurch at us. I tried to aim but my hands were shaky and my heart, racing. My eyes flew open. I was awake... and had chest pains. :|

Zombie Apocalypse?

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Sep 27, 2009

Typhoon Ondoy (International Name: Ketsana) hit Manila pretty hard last Saturday. 80% of the city was flooded -- a month's worth of rainfall in only six hours. 70+ people died and countless more missing.

There are those who are still trapped in their houses or on their rooftops because their houses got flooded in, with little to no food nor water. Worse, snakes have started to come out and I heard that some alligators escaped from a local rainforest park. :|

I'm very thankful that I live in a pretty good neighborhood and had zero damage. I'm off to volunteer and distribute relief goods to evacuation centers.

Photos and videos are all over the internet if you want to have an idea on how bad it was out here. Waters in some areas have already receded while the Northeastern part of Manila (parts of Marikina, Ortigas Extension, Rizal, etc.) are still submerged in water -- chest to about 10 feet high. I do hope water levels would go down immediately because weather forecasts say we'll have another typhoon in about two to three days... and another one after that.

I fear that resources might not be sufficient when/if that time comes and there will come a point when people could not donate because there's nothing to give anymore. :(

Defeat?

I concede. I guess I do need to upload a photo. Hmm.

So Let's Try This Again

Sep 26, 2009

And I'm back. Again. This would probably be the third or fourth time I registered on this thing. I deleted my previous profiles because I have a tendency to pick usernames that could easily be connected with me. And I don't like that. Obviously, hence the deletion.

But overtime I missed the quizzes and meeting new people. Quizzes helped me learn new things about myself -- relevant or irrelevant. I mean, what do you know, I'm 49% slutty! Where else can you find measurable information like that?

The meeting new people was fun for a while. But some people started to get creepy and Googled my username, and thus seeing information about me beyond OKCupid. That was Privacy Fail on my part... so yeah, now it's Let's Go Anonymity and Not Post Photos. Hmmm... but I doubt people would be willing to talk to me if I don't put anything up. I mean, I could really, really be someone you guys least expect.

But whatever, don't like? Don't care. :) There are quizzes to pass the time. So... nice to meet you. Again. :)
