My self-summary
I just moved back to Texas from the dreary winter of Indiana.
I'm a lawyer by trade, but I'm still a closet artist who tells others it's only a hobby, which amounts to messing around with my 16mm camera and keeping a visual diary. I prefer mom and pop restaurants over chain restaurants any day, dive bars over faux-upscale places, and close friends over a zillion acquaintances.

I listen to a lot of film scores, have a (near) fetish for cheese, like to go hiking, still write in cursive (and prefer to handwrite instead of typing, when possible), and read too much history, philosophy, and historical fiction.
What I’m doing with my life
I do probate law and estate planning.
The sexier aspect of my life: I've reconnected with some old artist friends, so I'm back to creative endeavors in my free-time.
Besides that, I spend my free-time reading, playing folksy crap on my guitar and banjo, and looking for new places to hike.

I'm feel ashamed that I never fully appreciated certain works of literature when I read them the first time; so, I'm revisiting the western canon at the moment.
I’m really good at
being goth on the inside.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Scientific Realism and the Plasticity of Mind; Justice in Robes; American Evasion of Philosophy; The Wanting Seed; most things by Cicero, Kant, Holderlin, and Kierkegaard.

Movies: Paris, Texas; Mod Fuck Explosion; Scenes from a Marriage; Double Life of Veronique; Road Warrior; Mrs. Doubtfire; The Sure Thing; High Fidelity; The New World; Tree of Life. I just saw Nebraska, and thought it was great.

Music: Max Richter; Eluvium; Jon Brion; Lambchop; John Prine; The Smiths; Joy Division; Dinosaur Jr.; Netsky; Iron and Wine; High Contrast; Boards of Canada; Prefuse 73; Third Eye Blind; Bone Thugs in Harmony; Lil Wayne's Carter II.

TV: Community; Curb Your Enthusiasm; My So Called Life; Adventures of Pete and Pete; Clarissa Explains it All

Food: Indian; Thai
The six things I could never do without
A complex book that bugs the hell out of me until I can understand it; hot tea; some random song that comes on the radio, etc. that makes me feel nostalgic; good company; rain; and my camera.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
finishing my film projects; whether I really miss school or already romanticize it; what new random place to visit.
On a typical Friday night I am
hanging out with friends at a show, dinner, or party.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I hate Mexican food.

Beetlejuice started my fascination with goth girls.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 22–32
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
you like people watching in order to joke around and don't take yourself too seriously. (And if you're a little weird).

If you like Steven Wright's brand of comedy.

Looking for someone that wants to meet up and talk about random things.
