organized, energetic, and a good listener
My self-summary Propose an edit
I love to knit,
sew, play my violin and guitar, sing, swim, canoe, watch tv and movies, cook, bake, and spend time with friends and laugh. One of my
favorite things to do to unwind is drive with my windows down,
sunroof open, and my music blaring!
I swam on the varsity team all four years of high school, but have
only been on intramural sports teams since (flag football,
volleyball, soccer). I'm not an avid sports watcher, but I enjoy
watching if someone else turns a game/match on (football, soccer,
tennis, baseball, basketball, etc)...I did watch the Phillies win the World
Series!!! that was awesome!
I graduated from the College of William & Mary last May with a
BS in chemistry, and now I am working towards a Masters of Divinity
at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia LTSP and ordination in the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America ELCA. I know this is a weird dichotomy of
faith and science, but my knowledge of science and the order I see
in nature strengthens my faith. I see myself as spiritual as I am
scientific. In addition to being scientific and religious, I also
am quite more liberal than most people tend to expect from a future
pastor. pastors are real
people too!
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
I am currently attending seminary in Philadelphia, working
towards my Masters of Divinity to
ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America ELCA. I want to serve as a
parish pastor wherever God sends me. On campus in addition to
taking classes and studying, I am in the choir, play on the flag football team, on a couple
of committees, and am starting to explore this amazing city!
I'm really good at Propose an edit
I am a very organized person (I am AR about some things), who plays
the violin, is
learning to play the guitar, and loves to sing. I am very creative with
arts
& crafts, sewing, and knitting, but wouldn't really call
myself an artist. I am a good friend, a good listener, and I love to
laugh.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
I am really loud...my voice and laugh carries really well.
I have been told that I have a good smile.
I am really energetic and outgoing, except in really new
situations, which is when my shyness tends to comes out.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
I am pretty girly when it comes to books and movies, but enjoy lots
of genres.
Books: I love Nicholas Sparks' books (The Notebook, Message in a
Bottle, etc), the Five people you meet in heaven, sisterhood of the
traveling pants, but lately i only have time to read for
classes.
Movies: chick flicks (american president, father of the bride,
wedding date, because I said so, family stone), but I also enjoy
others like: wedding crashers, little miss sunshine, keeping mum,
harry potter, across the universe, the departed.
TV: the office, grey's anatomy, sex and the city, brothers and
sisters, my boys, greek, gossip girl, desperate housewives, dirty
sexy money, eli stone, private practice, samantha who, ugly betty,
30 rock, Days of our lives (this is my mother's fault), law &
order, lost, lipstick jungle...yes i know I watch a lot of tv
Music: I listen to a little bit of everything: alternative, rock,
pop, show tunes, christian rock, some country, a bit of
rap...
Food: I love food, especially really good food! I like American,
Italian, Chinese, Thai, Mexican, etc. I love both trying new foods
at restaurants and making them at home. I consider myself a pretty
good cook, especially for most of my experience being in a small
dorm kitchen. My latest experiment in the kitchen was spanakopita
and baklava...it wasn't authentic Greek...but it was really good!

I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
What God has in store for me in the future: where I will be placed,
what kind of congregation I will serve, when/if I will get married
and have kids, will I keep in touch with all of my friends from
college that have scattered across the country and world.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
Hanging out with friends...a quiet night in or out having a
blast!
Watching a movie, playing board games, hanging out chatting or
playing music, cooking dinner with friends over a glass of wine or
beer OR out at the local bar or restaurants having a wonderful
dinner, drink, and fellowship.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I am still damaged from my parents divorce when I was in fifth
grade. I very much believe in love and marriage, but I tend to be a
little hesitant in letting myself be fully vulnerable so I don't
needlessly get hurt. This is something I am working on.
