I am progressive, laid-back, and norwegian.
My Self-Summary
just your basic, laid-back, scientist nice guy, into
unpopular music,
languages, small
ecological footprints,
philosophical/linguistic
ruminations, and
quinoa. i took the "what punctuation mark
are you" test and was a bit sad that i didn't come out
semicolon.
the gallup poll folk seem to think i'm best summed up by the
following: single, no dependents, highly likely to vote, not
religiously affiliated, never shop at walmart, and do not "consider
myself a NASCAR fan." for further elaboration, i'd add that i've
always got multiple projects going on but am slightly intimidated
by people who describe themselves as "energetic."
on the lookout for big-hearted, scruffy polyglot nerds with high
emotional IQs. if you know any, please send them my way.
[N.B.: non-english entries below were written for fun, at the
behest of okcupid, and with constant reference to various
dictionaries.]
so was.
respuestas!
What I’m doing with my life
i'm [now taking a break from] studying
cognitive neuroscience,
hanging out, tutoring now and then, exercising, cooking things that
have many ingredients and purchasing things that have few
ingredients, trying new things, learning
cello, studying too many languages at once
to get any good at any of them, memorizing various items, and
playing music with friends when i get the chance.
update: finally moved to SF! so, currently looking for excellent,
excellent new friends. i mean, the people in my life who'd be on
the short list for "best friends" all live out of town. i'd like to
connect with interesting somebodies who could come over on short
notice/regular occasions to drink two-buck chuck and watch
_ghostbusters_. in short, i feel quite at home in SF now, but i
don't have family here yet.
I’m really good at
evidently i have excellent
chinese pronunciation, but my vocab is
nonexistent so my wonderful accent doesn't get me very far.
also exceptionally above average at hauling ridiculous masses of
stuff around by bicycle, and reading chamber music with some
sensitivity and charm.
The first things people usually notice about me
i'm bipedal.
at least for now.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
(a) cat's
cradle, catch

speaking, anything with dystopias, apocalypses, vampires, robots,

The six things I could never do without
stereo with decent speakers, an instrument of some kind, athletic
shoes, a bike that works or is fixable with simple tools, adequate
warmth... and
dictionaries.
update: my latest hobby is "barefoot" running, so replace shoes
with "shoes".
I spend a lot of time thinking about
On a typical Friday night I am
game.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
i kinda like the song "unsent" by Alanis Morissette. hey, let's not
be too judgmental here.
You should message me if
you're up for a hike or a game of
scrabble, or you want to get together
over some beers and bitch about Jim Inhofe, Glenn Beck, or Joe the
Irrelevant.
or you have some cool idea of your own and are looking for someone
to tag along.
