authors) Murakami, Ian Banks, William Gibson, Mishima, Orson Scott
Card, Robin Hobb, Anne McCaffrey, Julian May, Asimov, Philip K.
Dick, Heinlein. I give books back to charities after I've read them
- so there are lots more I've loved but can't remember names of.
I'm keen to find more books by female authors (apart from the
Bronte sisters, Jane Austen, Amy Tan, Jung Chang [who although
writes interesting subject matter I find a boring storyteller] and
the above, so recommendations welcome). I Love books that make you
wonder how someone knows your mind so well - Stephen Fry did that;
which means I have the mind of a middle aged gay man?
movies) Growing up in a video shop might have been a factor in my
broad and sometimes childish taste; I've probably seen every PG
rated 80's film ever made.
I saw The Science of Sleep and cried most of the time in pure
amazement that it was so honest and true and real. I have had those
childish notions before about a book or film being made from
thoughts stolen from my head - this one felt like it was made just
for me. But then I thoroughly enjoy laughing at Snakes on a Plane
and Deep blue Sea, and since coming of age have added violence,
horror, sexually explicit material, adult themes and strong
language to my viewing selection.
music) I don't own any; I stream anything that comes to mind or
view including producers I follow on Soundcloud. If there's a new
mix to download I'll do it.
This is difficult: Trying to describe sounds becasue I'm not good
with band names and song names. I like: the long instrumental bits
at live gigs, albums, bass... I sound like a twat, I'll shh
now.
I dislike deep house, funky house and soulful house esp. with
vocals.
food) Cook for me and I'll really respect you, but if I tell you
I'm hungry and you ignore it then I'll find food and you'll lose
me.
I don't eat wheat, pork, potatoes, )
Korean is my current favourite food in London. I like all Asian
food though.
I'm quite healthy so do love to eat lots of vegetables, meat and
fish still on bones and parts of animals most people baulk at
[vegetarians; you'll hate me - trust], seeds, whole grains, nuts
and dark chocolate (I have a block on my desk most days).
I'll pick up a Pot Noodle or two on the way home from a night out.
