I am sensitive, strong, and adventurous.
My Self-Summary
I grew up in Montana, but went to L.A. & then Minneapolis after
high school. I just recently returned to be closer to my family
& get back in touch with the mountains & the clean air. I'm
a big nerd w/ a big heart, & I love meeting fellow nerds,
social outcasts, & other interesting people.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working as a CNA for a home health agency while I finish my
B.A. in Math at the U (I warned you - I'm a nerd (: ). I've
discovered that I really love health care, so after I get my degree
& spend a couple years saving up some money, I hope to attend
Physician's Assistant school.
I’m really good at
remaining patient w/ difficult people, remaining calm &
clear-headed in stressful situations, giving people the benefit of
the doubt, public speaking, listening, cuddling, trying new things,
crossword puzzles (well actually, I can never get more than half
the Sunday puzzle, but I enjoy trying at least), I can name all 192
U.N. recognized countries just because I thought an online
geography game was fun, & I used to be good at singing &
playing the flute, but I don't really practice either anymore
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told I project an air of quiet, understated confidence.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
books - The Great Derangement, Invisible Man, The Hitchhiker's
Guide to the Galaxy, 1984, House of Leaves, Life of Pi, The Red
Tent, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, What's the Matter with
Kansas?, The Winter of Our Discontent
movies - Stardust, Serenity, Elling, Milk, Volver, Cannibal! The
Musical, Life of Brian, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Dogma,
Lars and the Real Girl
music - Ani Difranco, Regina Spektor, Kate Nash, Alanis Morissette,
The Violent Femmes, Bad Religion, Operation Ivy, The Clash, Ella
Fitzgerald, Tarkio, Imogen Heap, Modest Mouse
food - Indian, Thai, & Sushi
The six things I could never do without
1) my family
2) my best friend
3) my kitties
4) travel
5) learning
6) jogging
I spend a lot of time thinking about
my dream trip - at least a year traveling throughout all of South
& Central America, attempting to integrate myself into
communities in a non-touristy sort of way...maybe through Peace
Corps or Doctors w/o Borders.
life, the people I love, whatever book I'm reading at the moment,
the 10 dimensions (this makes my brain melt - I can't even begin to
understand), school, my future, my feet, funny looking animals,
bubble wrap...I take numbers I see in my environment & make
patterns & equations from them, whether I want to or not...
Whenever a question comes to mind about psychology or evolutionary
biology or whatever, I'll spend half the day using my very limited
knowledge base to contrive some crazy theory on the matter; then I
go online to find out how completely wrong I was.
On a typical Friday night I am
spending a quiet evening w/ good friends & cheap wine.
Occassionally I'll go to AmVets or the Badlander, but my dancing
makes small children cry. ;)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I don't think I'm a very private or secretive person really. The
facets of my personality tend to reveal themselves slowly, so I'll
often surprise people who have known me for several months or even
years, but I have no problem being completely open & honest
about who I am or what I'm feeling.
Oh, and that thing I said about being cool and sociable on Friday
nights...well, don't tell anyone, but sometimes I like to stay home
w/ my computer instead and get my geek on with an RPG.
You should message me if
You need a belay partner! I've recently become obsessed w/
climbing, but I don't have a partner...or if you think we could
have some interesting conversations. I'm looking for friendship,
connections, & maybe more.
