Well, I'm an American living in Germany, and I love my life. It's always great to meet new people, and who knows if one might be someone I could really enjoy being with. So I thought I'd try this out. But I'm really only looking to meet people I could hang out with, so if you're in a different country and there's no option for us to meet, it's probably pointless to write to me.

I have a music degree, but I'm currently an English proofreader for a global software company. I've been back and forth between the US (Wisconsin) and Europe a lot in the last decade, but I've now been in this same apartment longer than I've lived anywhere since high school – 5 years – with no end in sight. I love this country. I travel most weekends and go out most weeknights. I love life and don't like to waste a minute. I love a good bike ride or hike. But I also like to just chill with friends over a good meal, cup of coffee, glass of wine, or even a board or card game.

I have a wonderful family that has supported me every step of the way, even though it means living across the ocean from them. My parents instilled strong Christian values in me, and I try to always make them proud.

Hmm. Well, English. It's my job. Not being surprised by things – I'm quite laidback. Sarcastic humor – nothing makes me feel more alive than when I'm with another sarcastic person and we can play off each other. Playing the piano and singing – I like to teach both, but I'm not a solo performer. I only sing in choirs or with my sisters, and I only play if they really need me to at church. I do enjoy directing choirs, though, so I'll do that whenever asked. Cooking – I guess I have a knack for it. Listening and reading people – I love discovering what makes people tick and how to best encourage them to be the best people they can be. Traveling – I obviously practice and have a good sense of direction most of the time.

You'll have to let me know. I guess the blonde hair? The smile? I may come off a bit snobby at first glance, but that's usually because I'm not a huge fan of small talk.

Fav books: Fantasy is my fav genre; Dickens, Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Dumas, Rutherfurd, George Martin

Fav movies: Tough to say, but I love super-hero films, Bond- and Bourne-type movies, and the occasional cheesy romantic comedy

Fav TV right now: New Girl, Castle, Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother, loved Community and Arrested Development (can't wait for the next season)

Fav music: Lots of kinds, but boychoir music and hip hop are my top two right now. I also like folk, indie, classical, mainstream, Arabic. But I tend to stay away from lyrically emotional music (i.e. Country). Not my thing. I'm much more about the musical lines and the beats.

Fav food: Mexican, Italian, natural peanut butter

I'm pretty low maintenance, so I'm not sure there is anything. Though I honestly can't remember life without the Internet.
